Fireworks will be launched at four locations in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the New Year 2026.

To celebrate New Year's Day 2026, Ho Chi Minh City will have fireworks displays at four locations: the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel, the Binh Duong New City Center, Tam Thang Square, and Dam Sen Park. This will be accompanied by many large-scale cultural and artistic programs.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize a series of activities to welcome the 2026 New Year.

Specifically, the city will hold an artistic fireworks display from 00:00 to 00:15 on January 1, 2026, at four locations. Three high-altitude fireworks displays will take place at: the area at the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel (An Khanh ward), the New City Center ( Binh Duong ward), and Tam Thang Square (Vung Tau ward). One low-altitude fireworks display will be held at Dam Sen Cultural Park. The entire cost of the event will be covered through private funding.

Simultaneously, artistic lighting decorations will be implemented on central streets and many other areas throughout the city to create a welcoming atmosphere for the New Year.

In addition, the city organizes many large-scale cultural and artistic programs. The highlight of the cultural activities is the New Year's Eve countdown program on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street on the night of December 31, 2025. The event area is expected to expand to Le Loi street, Lam Son Park, and the area in front of the City Theater.

In Vung Tau ward, the city is organizing a series of events called "Awakening the Dawn 2025," including: a sunrise running race, a morning yoga performance on December 31st, and an evening art program at Tam Thang Tower Square. A cultural and culinary festival will also be held at Bai Sau beach from December 27th, 2025 to January 1st, 2026.

Also on the evening of December 31st, there was an outdoor art program at the park in front of the former Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center, and many performances in communes and wards such as Dau Tieng, Xuan Son, Binh Khanh, Go Vap, and Phu Thanh.

New Year's celebrations will also be held at the Youth Cultural Center, universities, colleges, and dormitories on the nights of December 31, 2025 and January 1, 2026. Export processing zones and industrial parks will organize cultural events for workers on December 27 and 28, 2025.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City will organize the 12th HCMC Marathon 2026 from January 9th to 11th, 2026. Prior to that, on December 28th, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City New Year's Cross-Country Race will take place on the roads of Binh Duong ward. The Dinh Mountain Run will also be implemented through a socialized model.
