On the morning of November 21, the exhibition "Ho Chi Minh City grows with the country through a cinematic perspective" opened at Lam Son Park (Ho Chi Minh City).
This is one of the activities within the framework of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival directed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The Vietnam Film Institute coordinates with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and other implementing units.
Attending were Mr. Dang Tran Cuong - Director of the Department of Cinema, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival ; Ms. Le Thi Ha - Director of the Vietnam Film Institute; Mr. Vu Duc Tung - Director of the National Cinema Center; Mr. Tran The Thuan - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, Co-Head of the Organizing Committee of the Film Festival; screenwriter Duong Cam Thuy - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association...
The exhibition introduces more than 250 photos, which are multi-dimensional slices and perspectives of cinema from the historical years of the two resistance wars against invaders, liberating the South, unifying the country to the period of innovation, integration and development.
These images also give viewers an emotional perspective on Ho Chi Minh City, a city that always looks to the future but still preserves its own unique values.
According to the organizers, these images are taken from a number of documentaries, feature films, reports... with stories, characters, and settings filmed in Ho Chi Minh City and a number of beautiful photos of heritage, scenic spots, and cultural identity of Ho Chi Minh City.
Those are the images of the movies Red Rain, Tunnels: The Sun in the Dark, The Card Game, The Deserted Field, Saigon Commando, Monsoon Season, Confession Before Dawn, The Last Sin...

Ms. Le Thi Ha said that the photo collection in the exhibition was selected from documents and film works archived at the Vietnam Film Institute, from the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City, the Cinema Association of Ho Chi Minh City, film producers and artists.
“The new point of this exhibition compared to previous exhibitions is that the organizers applied modern technology to build a mixed virtual reality space and arrange a 360° photo booth area to increase the experience and interesting interactions for visitors,” Ms. Ha emphasized.
The organizers hope that through this exhibition, it will attract a large number of people and tourists from home and abroad, contributing to the propaganda, promotion and continuation of the historical and cultural values of the country.
This exhibition also has special significance as Ho Chi Minh City has just been recognized by UNESCO as a creative city in the field of cinema on October 31, 2025.
The exhibition "Ho Chi Minh City grows with the country through a cinematic perspective" takes place from November 21 to 25.
