The workshop brought together representatives from ministries and agencies, intellectual property experts, managers, and businesses to find solutions to the challenges of managing and protecting "intangible assets" in the context of the digital economy .
In the digital age, intangible assets such as data, software, digital lectures, and digital works are becoming fundamental capital for businesses and organizations. However, the majority of these assets in Vietnam are still not properly identified and lack a comprehensive legal framework for effective protection and exploitation.
Dr. Truong Thi Minh Sam, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Economic and Management Sciences , emphasized: Intangible assets are increasingly determining the competitiveness of each enterprise and the entire nation. Identifying and protecting these assets in Vietnam still faces many legal gaps and a lack of common governance standards. This workshop is an opportunity for us to frankly examine and find solutions to transform knowledge into sustainable economic strength.

During the in-depth discussion, speakers focused on analyzing the current legal framework and proposed a collective licensing model applicable to education, libraries, and businesses – a model that has been effectively implemented in over 50 countries, contributing to the transparency of author remuneration and improving data governance efficiency.
Many opinions also point out that, although strategic resolutions emphasize the role of the knowledge economy, in reality there is still a significant gap between legal regulations and the enforcement of copyright and intellectual property rights.
In addition, the workshop dedicated time to discussing new challenges in the era of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, particularly information security, risk identification, and the role of data governance in both the public and private sectors. Solutions for protecting intangible assets in the digital environment were analyzed from various perspectives.
The workshop is expected to contribute to improving the legal and technical infrastructure for the copyright ecosystem, thereby creating an important foundation to promote the development of Vietnam's creative economy in the coming period.
