Following the initial quality assessment at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, it was observed that many students in Loc Ha commune had low academic performance. Therefore, from the beginning of October until now, every Thursday at 7 PM, teachers from Loc Ha Secondary School, divided into groups (led by subject heads or homeroom teachers), bring lesson plans to the homes of students with struggling academics to provide tutoring. Thanks to this approachable method, the students are more open and proactive in discussing their lessons with their teachers.
Noticing that Phan Gia Bao (Yen Binh village, Loc Ha commune), a student in class 8D at Loc Ha Secondary School, was struggling with Math and Literature, Ms. Dang Thi Yen, the class teacher, along with other Math and Literature teachers, visited his home to help him develop more effective study methods. After more than two months of evening tutoring at home, Bao is now more confident and can solve basic math problems in the textbooks well.

Phan Gia Bao said: “Previously, I was very hesitant to ask teachers for help with difficult problems. Now that the teachers come to my house to explain things in person, I understand the lessons faster and my academic results are better.”
"The family is very relieved that our child is receiving dedicated tutoring from the teachers. He is more studious and no longer struggles with his studies like before," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hieu, Gia Bao's mother.
Not far from Gia Bao's house lives Phan Dinh Vu, a student in class 8B at Loc Ha Secondary School. His father passed away early, and his mother works as a trader at Cua Sot Fishing Port, so she doesn't have time to take care of her son's studies. Vu is struggling in many subjects such as Math, English, and Literature.

After receiving numerous home visits from teachers who guided him on how to approach math problems and memorize new English vocabulary, Dinh Vu's academic performance has improved significantly. "A few months ago, I was very afraid of subjects like Math, English, and Literature, and I was very hesitant to ask teachers and friends about these subjects. However, after receiving many home visits from teachers, I've become more interested in learning these subjects and no longer hesitate to ask them when I encounter difficult exercises," Vu shared.
Accompanying the students in each lesson are not only teachers but also youth union members – enthusiastic young people who understand student psychology. They support the development of learning methods, remind and encourage students to maintain a regular study habit.
As someone directly involved in and in charge of this activity, Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc - Secretary of the Youth Union and Head of the Young Pioneers' Team at Loc Ha Secondary School - shared: "We want to get closer to our students, not just to teach them academics, but also to accompany and share with them. Their learning will become more comfortable, natural, and effective."

Understanding the significance of the model, the school's administration created all the necessary conditions and assigned teachers with expertise and a sense of responsibility to participate. Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, Vice Principal of Loc Ha Secondary School, said: "Since implementing this teaching method, the percentage of weak students has decreased significantly. Students are more confident in speaking up, know how to ask questions, and are more diligent in doing homework. Most importantly, the awareness of learning within the community has been raised."
Loc Ha is a coastal area facing many difficulties. Most parents are fishermen or self-employed, with little time to support their children's studies. Therefore, the support provided by teachers in the evenings is not only about imparting knowledge but also carries great spiritual significance in empowering the children for their future.
To date, teachers at Loc Ha Secondary School have helped nearly 100 students achieve average to above-average academic performance, contributing to improving the quality of education and fostering closer ties between the school, families, and society.
