The 0-1 defeat against the Philippines means the Vietnamese women's team must achieve a good result in their final match to advance. Meanwhile, the Myanmar women's team is leading with 6 points after two consecutive wins and only needs a draw against Vietnam to secure first place in the semi-finals.
Given the importance of the match, both sides opted for an attacking style of play to gain an advantage. However, the Vietnamese women's team capitalized on their opportunities better, scoring two early goals. In the 8th minute, following a cross into the Myanmar penalty area by Tran Thi Duyen, Ngan Thi Van Su took advantage of the chance to head the ball into the net with a powerful header.

Ngan Thi Van Su scored the opening goal for the Vietnamese women's national team.
Buoyed by their early lead, the "Golden Star Warriors" continued to push forward and scored their next goal just 7 minutes later.
In the 15th minute, Hoang Thi Loan caused a Myanmar player to scramble the ball, sending it hitting her foot and then the crossbar. Immediately, Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, a midfielder who is only 1.53m tall, rushed in and headed the ball into the empty net, increasing the score to 2-0.
After conceding two consecutive goals, Myanmar was put on the defensive. The game was then completely under the control of the Vietnamese women's team. In the 33rd minute, Hai Yen had a chance right in front of the goal. Unfortunately, the veteran striker blasted the ball over the crossbar. The final minutes of the first half saw energetic performances from the two full-backs, Hoang Thi Loan and Tran Thi Duyen. Sadly, Vietnam did not score any more goals against their opponents.
After the break, the Vietnamese women's team continued to dominate the game, but the score remained unchanged. The developments in the other match, where the Philippines repeatedly took the lead against Malaysia, further hampered Myanmar's chances. Even when pushed down to third place, they were unable to regain control of the game from Vietnam.

The Vietnamese women's team advanced to the next round as group winners.
Even in the 81st minute, the team nearly conceded a goal, if Ngoc Minh Chuyen had successfully capitalized on an offside trap right outside the penalty area. The convincing 2-0 victory propelled the Vietnamese women's team into the semi-finals as group B winners.
Coach Mai Duc Chung's team has 6 points and a goal difference of +8. In the other match played at the same time, the Philippines defeated Malaysia 6-0. This result only helped The Akzals advance to the semi-finals as the second-placed team in Group B, with 6 points and a goal difference of +5.
Immediately after the match, the President of the Vietnam Football Federation, Tran Quoc Tuan, on behalf of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee, personally met with and congratulated the entire team, and also awarded the Vietnamese women's national team 700 million VND. President Tran Quoc Tuan also reminded the team to continue focusing on the upcoming semi-final match.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, coach Mai Duc Chung said: "Today, in front of a large crowd of Myanmar fans, the players not only overcame the pressure but also played with more enthusiasm."
The head coach of the Vietnamese women's national team said that after the loss to the Philippines, the coaching staff adjusted tactics, proactively pushing the team forward to attack: "If we played defensively, it would be very difficult. We were forced to attack to score goals, and this change proved correct. The sensible substitutions – bringing in Huỳnh Như to control the tempo, adding two young midfielders to reinforce the midfield, along with the stable performance of the three central defenders – helped the team control the game well."
Coach Mai Duc Chung emphasized that the team will prepare thoroughly for the next match: “Indonesia and Malaysia have both improved. We respect our opponents and will focus intensely on the upcoming match.”
