On the evening of December 11th, Myanmar suffered a 0-2 defeat against the Vietnamese women's team in the final match of Group B of the women's football tournament at the 33rd SEA Games.
Before the match, Myanmar had the best chance of advancing from Group B, being at the top of the table and needing only a draw against Coach Mai Duc Chung's team to secure a place in the semi-finals. However, they were defeated by the Vietnamese women's team.
Explaining the reasons for the swift defeat, the Japanese strategist admitted that the defense's lack of concentration in the opening minutes ruined all tactical plans.
"Conceding two goals so early in the first half was a huge problem. This really dampened the players' spirits, making them anxious and struggling to control the game against Vietnam," Tetsuro Uki shared in the press conference.

However, the Myanmar women's team coach still praised the fighting spirit of her players, even though they couldn't turn the tide.
He said: "The important thing is that the whole team didn't give up. The players fought until the very last minute and always tried to get the ball towards the opponent's goal. I want to thank them for that never-give-up spirit."
Amidst the enthusiastic cheers of the large number of Myanmar fans present at the stadium as well as those watching on television, Coach Uki could not hide his emotions and apologized to the fans, while also taking responsibility for his actions.
Speaking about future plans after their elimination from the SEA Games 33, the Japanese strategist affirmed that the team needs to seriously reflect on this failure.
He emphasized that Myanmar possesses some of the best players, and building on this foundation, the entire team must constantly strive in both training and competition to raise their level.
