With the task of winning to secure a place in the semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's team started the match with an attacking style of play and created a completely dominant game against Myanmar. From a well-coordinated attacking move, Tran Thi Duyen delivered an accurate cross from the right wing, allowing Ngan Thi Van Su to leap high and head the ball into the net, giving Vietnam a 1-0 lead against Myanmar in the 9th minute.
