PTSC enhances its offshore service capabilities: Receiving its first PSV vessel – PTSC PRIME

On the morning of December 10, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) held a ceremony to receive the M/V PTSC PRIME – the first offshore service vessel (PSV) in PTSC's service fleet, marking a new development in the expansion and modernization of its offshore service capabilities.

Overview of the handover ceremony

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of PTSC were Mr. Do Quoc Hoan – Member of the Board of Directors, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ngoc – Member of the Board of Directors, Mr. Tran Ngoc Chuong – Member of the Board of Directors, Mr. Le Chien Thang – Deputy General Director, Mr. Trinh Huu Duong – Director of PTSC Marine, along with representatives from relevant functional departments and the Ship Investment Task Force. On behalf of Nam Cheong International Ltd were Mr. Loo Hin Loy – Director in charge of Maritime Services and other representatives of Nam Cheong.


Mr. Le Chien Thang – Deputy General Director, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Chien Thang – Deputy General Director emphasized: “The acquisition of PTSC PRIME is an important milestone demonstrating PTSC's strategic direction in building a modern fleet that meets international standards and effectively serves the increasing needs of the domestic and regional energy market.”

Key technical features and competitive advantages
The PTSC PRIME vessel is equipped with many outstanding technical features such as: 6,000 BHP engine, DP2 navigation system, 800 m² deck with accommodation for 60 people, SPS (Special Purpose Ship) certification, and an azimuth propeller system to enhance maneuverability and operational safety. Owning the PTSC PRIME contributes to strengthening the capacity for transporting personnel, supporting drilling and providing offshore oil and gas services, while also opening up opportunities for developing the fleet in line with PTSC's internationalization orientation.

Strengthening strategic partnerships
During the ceremony, representatives from both sides signed the Handover and Acceptance Minutes for the ship. In addition, both sides continued to discuss opportunities for cooperation in new shipbuilding projects and fleet expansion, aiming to strengthen long-term and sustainable cooperative relations.

PTSC believes that, with a solid foundation of cooperation and commitment from the leaders of both sides, the handover and commissioning of PTSC PRIME will open up many opportunities for extensive cooperation, contributing to creating more value for customers and partners in the offshore services sector.
