According to Associate Professor Dr. Le Thanh Long, Head of the Young Intellectuals Club of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, in the context of strong scientific and technological development, strengthening cooperation with the alumni business network has become a strategic pillar to enhance research and technology transfer capabilities.

Dr. Long emphasized that this workforce possesses rich practical experience, understands market needs, and has the capacity to quickly implement applications, making them an ideal complement to the academic knowledge base. This collaboration needs to form an ecosystem and should not stop at funding or recruitment, but rather foster long-term engagement.

This helps many collaborative projects and programs create real, long-term value for both sides. "The relationship between alumni businesses and the university is always strong because alumni have a deep understanding of the academic culture, research strengths, and development needs of their school," said Dr. Long.

Meanwhile, Dr. Diep Thanh Dang - Chairman of the Network of Talented Students in Cloud Computing, Quantum Computing and Big Data in Ho Chi Minh City - said that cloud computing has become an indispensable part of most modern technology fields, such as the world's most powerful supercomputer, El Capitan.

Artificial intelligence (AI) systems require a massive amount of data for training. According to Dr. Dang, traditional computing methods cannot meet the increasing speed and volume of computation required by AI applications. Therefore, quantum computing has become a promising new trend because "quantum computers are capable of processing information millions of times faster than classical computers."

According to forecasts, the global quantum computing market will reach a value of nearly $65 billion by 2030. Major technology corporations such as Microsoft, Google, and Intel are racing to develop quantum computing tools. And in the future, quantum computing will simulate quantum mechanics, with quantum computers modeling complex molecules and solving multivariate problems at unprecedented speeds.

Dr. Dang said that quantum computers are not intended to replace conventional computers. In fact, they support tools for solving complex, data-intensive problems, especially machine learning problems where systems can make predictions and improve over time.

Joint laboratory and innovation center

Associate Professor Dr. Le Thanh Long stated that the main focus is on building shared laboratories and research spaces between the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and alumni businesses to optimize equipment, expand practical training for students, and help businesses access technology earlier.

Furthermore, the collaborative innovation center model will strongly support the transfer of research results from universities to practice, shortening product development cycles. Technologies such as semiconductors, quantum computing, biotechnology, big data, and AI are being seen as new growth drivers for the Vietnamese economy .
