Vietnam women's team defeated Myanmar 2-0
"Congratulations to the Vietnamese women's team! You truly deserve this. Throughout the tournament, we've seen how hard you've worked and how much effort you've put in," commented Ivy Iris from Thailand on the Asean Football page after the Vietnamese women's team's 2-0 victory over the Myanmar women's team at Chonburi Stadium (Thailand) on the evening of December 11th.
After a resounding 7-0 victory in their opening match, the Vietnamese women's team unexpectedly lost to the Philippines 0-1 and were forced to win against the Myanmar women's team in the final match to secure a place in the semi-finals.

Despite facing considerable pressure, Coach Mai Duc Chung's team showed their mettle when confronting Myanmar – a team that had previously defeated the Philippines women's team – something the Vietnamese women's team failed to do.
In the 9th minute, the Vietnamese women's team opened the scoring when Van Su headed the ball skillfully into the net past goalkeeper Myo Mya Mya Nyein. This boosted morale helped Coach Mai Duc Chung's team double their lead just two minutes later.
Following Hoang Thi Loan's attempt to win the ball, the Myanmar goalkeeper lost her balance, allowing Bich Thuy to easily increase the score to 2-0. In the remaining time of the match, the Vietnamese women's team had a few more opportunities, but Hai Yen and Ngoc Minh Chuyen failed to capitalize on them.
Ultimately, the Vietnamese women's team won 2-0 and will face the Indonesian women's team in the semi-finals. Avoiding Thailand in the semi-finals gives the Vietnamese women's team a strong chance of reaching the final and also gives them hope of winning the SEA Games 2025 title.
Many Southeast Asian fans have praised the Vietnamese women's team, saying that coach Mai Duc Chung's squad is a strong contender for the SEA Games gold medal this year.
"Congratulations to the Vietnamese women's team. You've come back stronger than ever against Myanmar," commented Ei Myat from Myanmar, acknowledging the well-deserved victory of the Vietnamese women's team.
"The Myanmar women's team beat the Philippines, the Philippines beat Vietnam, and Vietnam defeated Myanmar. This isn't the first time. We have reason to believe in fate," commented Lucky Luke, a user from Singapore.
"Myanmar defeated the Philippines, but now they're packing their bags and going home," emphasized GN Santos, a user from the Philippines.

"Vietnamese girls are beautiful and capable. The Vietnamese women's national team players played very well. I appreciate that. Come back stronger, our Myanmar girls, after this loss," Aung Zin Thant from Myanmar commented, encouraging his team.
"Congratulations to the Vietnamese women's team. You are the best team in Southeast Asia. I hope Vietnam wins the SEA Games gold medal. The inefficiency of the Myanmar team led to their unfortunate elimination from the group stage," added Wai Yan Htet, also from Myanmar.
"A very convincing performance. Continue to demonstrate your strength and hopefully we'll meet in the final," declared Moe Min from Thailand.
"If the Vietnamese women's team faces Indonesia, it's like they've got both feet in the final," concluded user Duong Tien Sinh.
