Most Vietnamese citizens at the Thailand-Cambodia border were evacuated safely.

(VTC News) - Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said that most Vietnamese citizens in the Thailand-Cambodia border area have been evacuated from recent conflict zones.

On the afternoon of December 11, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' regular press conference, spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated that the majority of Vietnamese citizens in the Thailand-Cambodia border area had been evacuated from locations experiencing fighting in recent days.

According to Ms. Pham Thu Hang, Vietnamese representative agencies in Thailand and Cambodia have issued advisories urging citizens to reconsider traveling to areas with complex security situations and to proactively leave areas at risk of conflict to ensure the safety of people and property.

Citizens are also urged to comply with the instructions of the local authorities and maintain contact with Vietnamese representative agencies.

"According to the latest information from Vietnamese representative agencies in Thailand and Cambodia, most Vietnamese citizens in the border areas have been evacuated to safe areas, far from where fighting is taking place ," Ms. Pham Thu Hang emphasized.

The spokesperson said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been working closely with domestic authorities to assess the situation, and has instructed its representative offices in the host country to closely monitor developments, maintain regular contact with local authorities and Vietnamese community leaders. The representative offices have been instructed to prepare contingency plans for citizen protection in all situations.

"We maintain full hotlines at Vietnamese representative offices in Thailand and Cambodia, as well as the Consular Department's hotline, to support citizens when needed," Ms. Hang said, affirming that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs always promptly and effectively implements citizen protection work in all locations.
