Speaking to a VTC News reporter on the sidelines of the Sweden-Vietnam Healthcare Innovation Conference on the morning of December 11th in Hanoi, Mr. Johan Ndisi, the Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam, said that both countries share similar geographical features, with both urban and rural areas, as well as remote regions.
Therefore, the two countries can learn from each other in deploying digital health tools and solutions to improve the quality of healthcare services, especially in reaching geographically remote areas.

The ambassador stated that Sweden has long been using electronic health records. Patient data is digitized and shared across hospital systems. Thanks to this interconnected data, diagnosis can be accelerated when patients visit different hospitals. Swedish technology companies, drawing on their experience in implementing this solution, can support Vietnamese hospitals.
Mr. Johan Ndisi also emphasized: “Sweden and Vietnam have built trust in the healthcare sector over decades. Today, we are moving from shared history to shared innovation, combining Swedish expertise in digital healthcare and sustainable development with Vietnam’s aspiration to improve the quality of healthcare for all its people. This is a journey of turning ideas into action for a better life.”
Sweden is internationally recognized for its advanced health data ecosystem and high-quality registries, which drive evidence-based improvements in treatment outcomes and healthcare system efficiency. These experiences are guiding bilateral cooperation on digital health, clinical decision support, and quality improvement in Vietnam.
