
The provincial delegation inspected the progress of the Rach Gia - Hon Dat coastal road construction project.
Specifically, the delegation inspected the progress of the Rach Gia - An Bien bridge project; the Rach Gia - Hon Dat coastal road project; the Hon Dat - Kien Luong coastal road project; the main coastal road leading to the center of Ha Tien city; and the border patrol road in the province.
The Rach Gia - An Bien bridge project has a total investment of VND 3,900 billion, commenced on September 30, 2025, and is expected to be completed on September 15, 2028, with a construction period of 1,080 days. Since the commencement of construction, the contractor has submitted construction permits to relevant authorities; completed procedures for opening material and equipment storage yards; and carried out test piling of prestressed concrete piles.

Construction of Hon Soc Bridge is underway.
The Rach Gia - Hon Dat coastal road construction project has a total investment of VND 852.96 billion, with implementation from 2019 to 2025. The planned capital for 2025 is VND 72.85 billion, and the cumulative value implemented to date is VND 615.5 billion, of which construction costs account for over VND 579 billion.
The Hon Dat - Kien Luong coastal road construction project has a total length of nearly 39.5km, including a newly constructed section of nearly 30km, a 6.77km main section and a 2.4km branch section that needs upgrading; and the construction of 24 new bridges, designed as permanent structures using reinforced concrete (Hon Dat: 24.25km with 21 bridges; Kien Luong: 15.2km with 3 bridges). The road surface is 7m wide (2 lanes for motor vehicles), and the roadbed width is 12m.

Regarding the Rach Gia - An Bien bridge project, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc requested the Department of Construction to direct specialized agencies to promptly complete the construction design documents. He also requested that agencies and units organize the construction work quickly, meet the plan, ensure quality, environmental hygiene, and aesthetics, in order to complete the project soon and achieve the goal of connecting traffic on the coastal road, creating conditions for socio -economic development while ensuring national defense and security.

Regarding the Rach Gia - Hon Dat coastal road construction project, the Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee requested the local authorities to coordinate with relevant units to strengthen mobilization efforts through various flexible methods to expedite the handover of the land for construction.
In cases where demands or requests are unreasonable or exceed the policy framework, the local authorities will coordinate with relevant units to complete the dossiers according to the correct procedures and legal regulations for enforcement. In addition, lessons should be learned regarding the two construction contractors who lacked sufficient commitment.

During an inspection of the construction progress of the projects, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province requested the investors to strengthen supervision and inspection; and the contractors to urgently increase equipment, personnel, and materials, and work overtime according to the actual conditions of the project, determined to accelerate the construction progress to meet the set plan.
