Opening Ceremony of the Vietnam-Cambodia Border OCOP Trade Fair

On the evening of December 10th, at the Xuan To Industrial Park, Tinh Bien Ward, An Giang Province, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the People's Committee of An Giang Province, solemnly inaugurated the OCOP Trade Fair of the Vietnam-Cambodia border region.

The fair brought together over 200 booths from 80 businesses from various provinces and cities in Vietnam and the Kingdom of Cambodia. Participating businesses showcased thousands of regional specialties, OCOP products, consumer goods, handicrafts, and high-quality agricultural products to consumers in the border region of An Giang .

A highlight of this year's fair is the presentation and display of OCOP products by Vietnamese businesses that meet standards of 3 stars or higher, along with many strong brands aiming to expand exports to the Cambodian market.

In his opening remarks at the fair, Mr. Le Trung Ho, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, emphasized that in recent years, the economic relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia has achieved impressive success, with bilateral trade turnover growing remarkably, increasing more than threefold, from approximately 3.3 billion USD in 2015 to over 10 billion USD in 2024.

According to Mr. Le Trung Ho, cross-border trade has always been the lifeblood of the economy. In recent years, trade relations between An Giang province and Cambodian provinces have developed strongly. As of September 2025, the total import and export turnover between An Giang province and Cambodia reached 940 million USD; of which, exports reached 531 million USD and imports reached 409 million USD.

Mr. Ho affirmed that the fair is an opportunity for Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses to meet, exchange ideas, introduce their image, and promote their specialty products to domestic and international tourists. The fair also creates a bridge for trade, helps find partners, expand distribution networks, and access the potentially lucrative border market.

The Vietnam-Cambodia Border Region OCOP Trade Fair took place from December 10th to 16th. The fair contributed to promoting economic linkages, strengthening cooperation and trade exchanges between Vietnam and Cambodia.
