The commune's development space is organized into three specialized economic zones. The industrial-energy zone is located in the central area, linked to the two key industrial clusters of Ban Phung and Khanh Yen Thuong. The urban-commercial-service zone develops along National Highway 279 and around the commune's administrative center. The agricultural-forestry zone extends to the highland villages such as Lang Giang and Son Thuy.

This zoning helps Van Ban proactively plan policies, guide investments, and maintain consistency in development management.
Based on the above planning foundation, Van Ban commune focuses on implementing key industrial projects – important pillars. The Ban Phung Industrial Cluster (Nam Co village), with a scale of 40 hectares, is oriented towards developing clean industries, producing construction materials and processing agricultural and forestry products. This is considered a connecting point between the hilly and forested production area and the central industrial zone, creating a continuous value chain. Meanwhile, the Khanh Yen Thuong Industrial Cluster, with 25 hectares, aims to attract light industrial manufacturing enterprises such as garment, footwear, mechanical engineering, and export businesses, thereby forming a system of satellite enterprises and production support services.

At the Ban Phung Industrial Cluster, investors have worked with local authorities to implement a mineral processing project with a total investment of over 400 billion VND. Currently, the project has completed all necessary procedures and documents, which have been submitted to the competent authorities for review and public announcement through various media outlets. In addition, a business unit has proposed to the local authorities a "Biomass Power Plant" project to develop renewable energy while protecting the environment, with a total investment of over 100 billion VND, within the same industrial cluster.
One of the prominent projects that Van Ban commune has proactively promoted recently is the Khanh Yen Thuong Shoe Factory, proposed by Hai My Phu Tho Industrial Co., Ltd. (Phu Tho province). The project has a scale of 300-400 billion VND, covering 3-4 hectares in the Khanh Yen Thuong industrial cluster. Local authorities and the enterprise have organized working sessions, site visits, and surveys of the factory construction site and the local labor supply capacity. The factory is expected to be operational by the end of 2026. Mr. Vu Xuan Thuy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Ban commune, shared: “The factory will not only create significant export value but also lead to the development of worker housing, commercial businesses, and a chain of supporting services.”

Alongside industrial development, Van Ban commune places special emphasis on commercial agriculture , an approach aimed at increasing people's income and creating a foundation for the development of the collective economy. The model of cultivating Bat Do bamboo shoots on a scale of 1,000 hectares in Lang Giang, Son Thuy is a prime example. The entire bamboo shoot growing area has been systematically planned and implemented by Yen Thanh Joint Stock Company (Yen Binh commune) according to a production-procurement-processing-consumption chain.
To concretize the cooperation, the People's Committee of Van Ban commune and Yen Thanh Joint Stock Company signed a memorandum of understanding, surveyed the raw material area, the site for the processing plant, and completed the necessary documents and procedures for submission to competent authorities for approval of the investment plan. Currently, more than 170 households have registered to plant Bat Do bamboo shoots and have high expectations for this project. It is expected that the bamboo shoot area will bring in an income of 70-150 million VND/hectare/year, creating stable livelihoods for 500-700 households and contributing 3-4 billion VND annually to the commune's budget. Van Ban commune's goal is to build the "Van Ban Bamboo Shoots" brand, achieving OCOP 3-star certification by 2030, affirming the value of the local agricultural product.

In addition to developing cultivation areas, Van Ban commune will focus on building a smart agricultural value chain through a "cooperative - enterprise - people" linkage model, combined with the application of digital technology, traceability, credit support, and technology transfer. This will be the foundation for people to access commodity-based economic methods, build a circular community economic model, adapt to the market, and develop sustainably.
Thus, in just over 5 months since the establishment of the (new) Van Ban commune, the locality has attracted more than 1,000 billion VND in investment in industrial and agricultural production projects. Therefore, the locality has sufficient grounds to achieve the goal set by the Resolution of the First Congress of the Van Ban Commune Party Committee, term 2025-2030, which is to achieve a budget revenue of 500 billion VND by 2030. Comrade Vu Xuan Thuy - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, stated: “When fully operational, these projects could generate 500-600 billion VND annually, accounting for approximately 80% of the commune's total budget revenue by 2030. Along with that, the average income of the people will also increase significantly, from 45 million VND (in 2025) to an expected 75 million VND by 2030. These economic development projects will create jobs for thousands of workers, opening up a modern production-service-trade complex right in the locality.”

Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Ban Commune, Vu Xuan Thuy, emphasized: “The locality has determined that attracting investment must be based on good planning, good infrastructure, and good services. Van Ban is committed to creating a transparent investment environment, accompanying businesses, and developing for the benefit of the people. The goal of revenue collection is not just a number, but a driving force for the entire commune to change its management mindset, affirming the innovation of the management model when operating a two-tiered local government and improving the effectiveness of policy implementation.”
It can be said that the industrial, agricultural, and service projects that have been and are being implemented will be an important "foundation" for Van Ban to become a new economic center of the region. The locality is entering a new phase of development, not only in terms of orientation but also in terms of concrete solutions, projects, models, and practical methods in attracting investment. This is a crucial turning point in the shift of the local economy's structure from agriculture to industry and services, creating a long-term impetus for economic development, job creation, and urbanization in Van Ban.
