Achieve the goal.

Before the "group final" match against U22 Malaysia, there were predictions of a tense game for U22 Vietnam. However, coach Kim Sang Sik and his players showed that they were not arbitrarily considered the strongest contender for the gold medal in men's football at the SEA Games 33.

The proactive approach of the Vietnam U22 team quickly resolved all their plans when Hieu Minh scored in the very first minutes of the match. This prevented the Malaysia U22 team from playing a negative defensive game with the aim of sharing the points as initially planned.

Vietnam U22 won and achieved their goal of securing a place in the semi-finals.

Trailing behind, the Malaysian U22 team was forced to push forward, leaving more space and allowing the Vietnamese U22 team to control the game and launch dangerous attacks.

Minh Phúc's second goal not only secured the victory but also officially ended any chance of a comeback for the Malaysian U22 team. The team, considered a major competitor to the Vietnamese U22 team, revealed itself to be not as dangerous as initially assessed, displaying a monotonous and uninspired style of play.

The 2-0 victory not only helped the Vietnam U22 team comfortably advance to the semi-finals of the SEA Games 33 men's football tournament as group winners, but also reaffirmed their position in the region.

Professional concerns remain.

While they achieved their goal of securing 3 points, the U22 Vietnam team's performance throughout the 90 minutes clearly failed to fully satisfy fans and experts alike.

Firstly, the inherent problem of missing scoring opportunities remains unresolved. Strikers often appear hasty and lack the necessary composure in final finishing situations.

But after the joy, the Vietnam U22 team still needs to improve on some technical aspects.

Secondly, despite attempts to diversify their playing style, the final passes of the Vietnam U22 team still lacked the quality, accuracy, and finesse needed to easily unlock the opponent's defense.

The U22 Malaysia team didn't actually pose a significant threat, but in a few rare attacking opportunities, they still managed to create some confusion in the U22 Vietnam defense. Fortunately, their opponents were weak both physically and technically at crucial moments, so they couldn't capitalize on these mistakes.

Nevertheless, coach Kim Sang Sik and his players have achieved their first goal and are on track at the SEA Games 33. However, to achieve even greater perfection, they will need to quickly and thoroughly address the aforementioned concerns, as even a small mistake in the semi-final (against the Philippines) could be very costly.
