Vietnam U23 has made detailed preparations to defeat Malaysia U23.
Entering their second and most crucial match in Group B, Coach Kim Sang-sik emerged victorious in a tactical battle against his Malaysian counterpart, Nafuzi Zain. Vietnam's U23 team changed nearly half their lineup, surprising their opponents with a completely different playing style and scoring goals according to a script prepared the day before.
Coach Kim Sang-sik stated after the match: "The Vietnam U23 team has made a strong comeback, securing the top spot in Group B. After the opening match against Laos U23, we spent over a week training together, meticulously preparing our tactics, making effective personnel changes, and adjusting our playing style. Following the victory against Malaysia, we will prioritize the players' physical recovery in preparation for the next match. I would like to congratulate the Vietnam women's team on their important victory and their advancement to the semi-finals. The Vietnam U23 team had the opportunity to meet the Vietnam women's football team at the send-off ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City and flew to Bangkok together. I hope both teams will have a smooth journey to the final match. I will focus on each step so that the Vietnam U23 team, along with the Vietnam women's team, can bring glory to Vietnam."
Coach Kim Sang-sik also hopes that more Vietnamese fans will come to the stadium to give the U.23 Vietnam team more strength to win in the semi-finals.

A regrettable situation
Despite the loss, U23 Malaysia coach Nafuzi Zain was proud of his players, saying: "U23 Vietnam was far superior in experience thanks to the majority of their squad playing in Vietnam's top league, unlike U23 Malaysia. U23 Malaysia wanted to win, not draw, but we started without enough intensity, leaving gaps and paying the price. Nevertheless, I am proud of my players for daring to play attacking football against a strong team like U23 Vietnam."
The Vietnamese women's team turned pressure into motivation.
Speaking at a press conference after the Vietnamese women's team's victory over Myanmar, coach Mai Duc Chung said: "Entering the stadium, we saw the Myanmar fans filling the stands, the atmosphere was very passionate, but we weren't too worried. The Vietnamese women's team is used to playing in similar 'cauldrons'. I told my players to turn the tremendous pressure from the stadium into motivation. And the players did it."

According to coach Mai Duc Chung, the victory against Myanmar was due to the coaching staff effectively utilizing the players' strengths and experience, and making appropriate adjustments after the loss to the Philippines. "I brought in the experienced central defenders Hoang Thi Loan and Tran Thi Thu to neutralize Myanmar's dangerous attacking threat, while pushing Ngan Thi Van Su forward to play as a forward alongside Hai Yen and Bich Thuy, maximizing their strength and skill. Then I brought in Huynh Nhu, making the most of the experience of the attacking players to prevent Myanmar from pushing forward. Van Su, despite her small stature (only 1.53m tall), was very confident, positioned herself well, and was very aggressive and good at heading. In addition, young players like Tran Thi Duyen are becoming increasingly mature, creating a strong team," Chung shared.
Coach Mai Duc Chung also spoke about the semi-final match against Indonesia on December 14th: "I know they are improving, so we won't be complacent. The whole team will prepare well to focus on finding a victory in the semi-final."
