Zinedine Zidane's presence in the Bernabeu stands on December 11th sparked much speculation about the future of coach Xabi Alonso.

During Real Madrid's 1-2 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League, Zidane unexpectedly appeared in the stands at the Bernabeu. He intently watched his former team play, but unfortunately, Real suffered a defeat at home.

Zidane's arrival coincided with Real Madrid's management considering the future of coach Alonso following a series of poor results. Before the defeat against Man City, Real had only won 2 of their last 7 matches in all competitions.
