Athletics and swimming continue to be the two sports expected to bring home many gold medals for the Vietnamese delegation at the 33rd SEA Games . On the third day of official competition, swimming features six events. If athletes qualify (at 9 am), they will compete in the finals at 6 pm on the same day.

If they perform to their full potential, the Vietnamese swimming team could compete for gold medals in the men's 400m individual medley with Tran Nguyen Hung, the men's 1500m freestyle with Nguyen Huy Hoang, or expect a surprise from Vo Thi My Tien in the women's 400m freestyle.

In athletics, Vietnam's hopes lie in the women's 400m event. The focus of athletics is on the final days of competition, with the performances of Nguyen Thi Oanh and the women's relay events.

Another "gold mine" for Vietnam in shooting officially kicks off on December 12th with two events. In gymnastics, after winning two gold medals on December 11th, the Vietnamese gymnastics team has five finals today, and is expected to win another 1-2 gold medals for the Vietnamese delegation.

Vietnam's strengths in sports such as karate, judo, taekwondo, and jujitsu continue to promise an additional 5-6 gold medals on December 12th. In addition, sports like rowing and petanque also have a chance of winning gold medals.

In women's volleyball, although it's only a group stage match, the clash between the Vietnamese and Indonesian women's volleyball teams is highly anticipated. The winner could avoid host nation Thailand in the semi-finals.
