- Reporter: An Giang has a large ethnic minority population, living in many remote, border, and island communes. What outstanding activities has the Provincial Women's Union implemented to protect the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, Madam?
- Ms. Truong Thanh Thuy: The Provincial Women's Union has always identified supporting women in disadvantaged areas and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and children as one of its key and ongoing tasks throughout the term. First and foremost, the work of building a safe environment for women and children has made a strong impact with many practical activities. The entire province has 327 models, groups, and teams building families, with 11,445 members; grassroots unions maintain 540 reliable addresses and temporary shelters, providing timely support and protection to women and children who are victims of violence and abuse, contributing to building a safe and happy family environment.

During the 2021-2025 term, women's associations at all levels supported 5,234 women's households to escape poverty, mobilized funds to build and repair hundreds of houses for poor and disadvantaged women members, helping them stabilize their lives and develop economically. Alongside economic support, associations at all levels focused on protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women members and children. The Provincial Women's Union organized a pilot model, directly guiding and supporting grassroots associations to establish 4 ethnic and religious women's groups with a total of 115 members. These groups have become an important bridge, helping to understand the thoughts and aspirations of ethnic and religious women; creating conditions for members to share experiences, support each other in life, contributing to strengthening national unity, and effectively implementing the policies and guidelines of the Party and State.
In particular, the "Godmother" program has become a lifeline for 373 orphaned children in the province, providing over 11 billion VND in support, helping them overcome difficulties and continue their education. All these activities not only help women in difficult circumstances improve their lives but also affirm the important role of the association in social welfare work and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and children in the province.
- Reporter: Could you tell us about the tasks and solutions that the association prioritizes for implementation during the 2025-2030 term?
- Ms. Truong Thanh Thuy: Building on the achievements of the past term, the Provincial Women's Union will continue to unite and strongly innovate the content and methods of its activities; effectively fulfill its function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and children. It will realize the aspirations of all women, mobilize the participation of the entire society for the comprehensive development of women, and contribute to building and developing An Giang into an increasingly civilized, prosperous, and beautiful province.

The Association has identified key breakthroughs: comprehensive digital transformation within the organization; supporting women in enhancing their digital capabilities; promoting women's entrepreneurship, innovation, and legitimate wealth creation. Annually, each commune, ward, and special zone branch of the Association helps 10 households with women escape multidimensional poverty and near-poverty. The goal is that by the end of the term, the Provincial Women's Union will propose at least one policy related to women, gender equality, and social security; and at least 80% of its members will meet the required digital capabilities...
With the spirit of "Unity - Creativity - Innovation - Development," I call upon all cadres, members, and women of An Giang to unite, be of one mind, work together, actively compete in labor and production, determined to overcome all difficulties, and strive to excellently fulfill the targets of the Provincial Women's Congress Resolution for the 2025-2030 term, contributing together with the Party Committee and the people to successfully achieve the goals of the Provincial Party Congress Resolution for the 2025-2030 term, building an increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and civilized An Giang homeland.
