Affirming the status of a model Party school.

The Ton Duc Thang Political School uses the quality of political theory education as a benchmark and is gradually affirming its position as a standard Party school in An Giang in the new era.

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh paid special attention to political theory education. He clearly stated that political theory education aims to gradually put theory into practice, training a team of revolutionary cadres with good theoretical knowledge to work, to be good people, and to be good cadres. Continuing the President's ideology, the Ton Duc Thang Political School actively implements comprehensive solutions to improve the quality of political theory teaching. Over 77 years of formation and development (1948 - 2025), the school has continuously grown in scale, training quality, and scientific research, becoming a center for training and developing leading and managerial cadres in the province; a place for scientific research, summarizing practical experiences, and disseminating the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh, and the moral example of President Ton Duc Thang. With its rich history and achievements, the school's collective and many individuals have been awarded numerous medals, flags, and certificates of merit by competent authorities.

In 2024, Ton Duc Thang Political School became the first school in the Mekong Delta region to achieve Level 1 standard according to Decision No. 11-QD/TW of the Party Central Committee on standard political schools. In 2025, after the merger of Kien Giang Provincial Political School and Ton Duc Thang Political School, the school will have a new stature, embodying tradition, intellect, and aspirations for innovation and development.

During the past academic year, despite organizational and personnel challenges following the merger, the Ton Duc Thang Political School achieved many outstanding accomplishments. The school streamlined its structure with a five-member management board, three specialized departments, and two functional offices. The school has 80 staff members, most of whom hold master's degrees or higher, including six PhDs and ten doctoral candidates, creating a solid foundation for improving teaching quality.

Training and professional development programs were rigorously maintained with 15 courses and over 1,079 students, with innovative teaching methods aimed at developing students' abilities and linking theory with practice. Scientific research achieved success with a total of 25 completed projects; 9 issues of the newsletter "Theoretical and Practical Information" were published. The school had 4 lecturers who received the title of excellent lecturer at the 9th National Excellent Lecturer Competition.

Dr. Ho Ngoc Truong, Principal of Ton Duc Thang Political School, stated: “The work of political theory education at Ton Duc Thang Political School has received attention and focused direction from the Provincial Party Committee, creating positive changes. The quality of training and fostering political theory for cadres and Party members from the provincial to the grassroots level has improved... making an important contribution to political theory and ideological education, cultivating moral qualities and lifestyles for the team of cadres and Party members; strengthening ideological and political unity within the Party, consensus in society; and enhancing the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations.”

One of the key solutions to improve the quality of the teaching staff is to organize a school-level competition for excellent lecturers. The 2025 school-level competition for excellent lecturers recently took place with the participation of 7 lecturers. Evaluating the quality of the competition, Mr. Ho Ngoc Truong commented: “In the teaching section, the lecturers demonstrated good teaching experience, thorough and meticulous preparation for their lectures, and dedication and enthusiasm for the profession. Many lecturers effectively applied active teaching methods, used information technology; and integrated content on protecting the Party's ideological foundation into their lectures appropriately, contributing to enhancing the ideological and combative nature of their lectures.”

To achieve Level 2 standards for a standard political school, the Principal of Ton Duc Thang Political School affirmed that the school is focusing on implementing fundamental tasks and solutions. These include concentrating all resources on building a sufficient and balanced team of lecturers and staff; emphasizing training and professional development; and providing practical training and development for lecturers to build a team with the necessary qualities, attributes, and capabilities of educators, scientists, leaders, and managers. Simultaneously, the school will continue to comprehensively innovate and improve the quality of its training and development management; proactively advise the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee on developing projects, programs, and plans; and continue to improve the content and programs of training and development, focusing on clearer theory, targeting specific groups, and aligning with practical realities. The school is enhancing its facilities and equipment and making effective use of modern resources to support management, teaching, scientific research, and learning.

With concerted efforts at innovation and strong determination, Ton Duc Thang Political School is affirming its role as the leading training and development center for leaders and managers in the province, steadily progressing towards achieving higher standards.
