The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association believes that the recent decline in coffee prices is mainly due to supply and demand and developments in the global market. Vietnam is entering its peak harvest season with a good increase in production, contributing to upward price pressure.
According to the Association's analysis, coffee prices on the exchange have stopped falling and have slightly increased again due to the impact of financial investment activities and supply and demand fluctuations. However, after the previous period of sharp increases, coffee prices are predicted to cool down unless adverse factors such as weather significantly affect supply occur.
Observations in coffee-growing regions show that even though prices are showing signs of rising again, many farmers are still choosing to sell immediately after harvest to avoid the risk of further price drops. The majority of coffee is sold fresh instead of being stored to wait for better prices, as in previous seasons.
Nevertheless, thanks to the still high selling prices and relatively good yields this year, many farmers are still making good profits, helping them stabilize production and plan for reinvestment in the next season.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices rose again in the most recent trading session:
Robusta coffee (London):
January 2026 delivery: Increased by $57/ton to $4,278/ton

A trader quoted by Reuters said that the coffee harvest in Vietnam is showing a clear recovery. Although progress has been slowed by rain and labor shortages, expected yields are still rising and the quality of coffee beans is trending upwards, creating positive expectations for the market in the new crop year.
According to the International Coffee Organization (ICO), global coffee exports in October reached 11.16 million bags, slightly higher than the 11.09 million bags exported in the same period last year. This indicates that consumer demand remains stable at a high level.
In the 12 months ending October 2025, arabica exports decreased from 86.10 million bags to 83.97 million bags. Conversely, robusta exports recorded a slight increase, from 54.23 million bags to 55.29 million bags, reflecting a shift in demand towards the more competitively priced coffee segment.
Regarding inventories, ICE-monitored arabica stocks had fallen to a 1.75-year low of 398,645 bags on November 20th, but recovered to 426,523 bags by the end of last week. Meanwhile, robusta inventories fell to an 11.5-month low of just 4,012 lots as of December 10th, indicating continued pressure on robusta supply.
