In Quang Truc commune, Lam Dong province, border soldiers not only bravely defend every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland, but when deployed to the grassroots level, they are exemplary Party members, closely connected to the lives of the local people. With a sense of responsibility and dedication, these Party members in military uniform are leaving a strong mark, contributing to making the border region increasingly strong, peaceful, and prosperous.

In January 2025, Major Nguyen Van Nga, an officer at the Dak Dang Border Guard Post, was assigned to reinforce the Party Committee of Quang Truc commune to support the locality in consolidating the grassroots political system and building a strong border defense and security line. With practical experience and the ability to closely monitor the area and be close to the people, Major Nga quickly adapted to the work, effectively fulfilling his role as a Party member and soldier on the front lines, proactively proposing many solutions to strengthen and improve the quality of the grassroots political system.

Faced with the reality of the people's difficult living conditions, Major Nga regularly visited each village and household to understand their thoughts and aspirations and to survey their production practices. Based on this, she advised the Party committee and local government on developing specific programs and plans to encourage people to transform their production methods, boldly apply science and technology in farming and livestock breeding, and develop effective economic models.

Through these solutions, many high-income economic models have emerged, helping to improve the lives of people in border areas and contributing to sustainable poverty reduction. “With the responsibilities and duties assigned to me, I have advised the Party Committee and local authorities on developing specialized resolutions on economic development in border areas; strengthening the grassroots political system; building national unity; and especially focusing on the comprehensive development of ethnic minority areas… To date, the lives of people in border areas have improved significantly, and they have absolute trust in the leadership of the Party, the government, the border guard forces, and affiliated units. From there, they strive to unite and build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developing border defense line,” Major Nguyen Van Nga shared.

Implementing the model of "Border Guard Party members participating in village/hamlet Party branch activities," Lieutenant Colonel Pham Minh Tuan, of the Mass Mobilization Team, Dak Dang Border Guard Post, was assigned to participate in activities with the Bu Krac hamlet Party branch. Through these activities, Lieutenant Colonel Tuan noticed that the Bu Krac hamlet Party branch lacked experience in drafting, recording, and issuing resolutions and documents related to its activities. Therefore, Lieutenant Colonel Tuan actively participated in drafting and contributing to the draft resolution, guiding the Party branch committee to properly record meetings, and developing and issuing resolutions that were practical and timely for effective implementation. To date, Party branch activities have been maintained regularly and systematically, with meetings fully recorded and resolutions issued in accordance with regulations.

According to Dieu Khanh, Secretary of the Party Branch of Bu Krac village, since the implementation of the model where border guards participate in party branch activities, the quality of the branch's operations has significantly improved. Border guard party members have contributed to developing practical resolutions, supporting the branch in its activities, and issuing resolutions promptly and effectively in line with real-life situations. During village meetings, they have also incorporated propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to improve their family economies, raise awareness of laws protecting national border sovereignty, and comply with regulations in the border area. Furthermore, border guard party members have proactively coordinated with the self-governing committee to organize patrols and maintain security and order, helping people in the border region feel secure in their work and production.

Currently, in addition to the Border Guard officers reinforced at the commune, all 11 hamlets of Quang Truc commune have Party members who are Border Guard officers participating in Party branch activities. With the motto "respect the people, be close to the people, understand the people, learn from the people, and be responsible to the people," these Party members in green uniforms reinforced at the grassroots level maintain close ties with the local people. At the same time, imbued with the spirit of "listening to what the people say, speaking in a way the people understand, and acting in a way the people trust," and "eating together, living together, working together, and speaking the ethnic language together," these Border Guard Party members have a firm grasp of the local situation, promptly advising the Party committee and local government on appropriate policies and solutions, contributing to socio-economic development and strengthening national defense and security in this border region of the Fatherland.

Therefore, the appearance of the Quang Truc border region is changing every day; the material and spiritual lives of the people are increasingly improving; traditional ethnic culture is being preserved and promoted; national defense and security are being strengthened and consolidated; the poverty rate in the entire commune has decreased to 21.3%; the commune has achieved 15 out of 19 criteria for new rural development; 100% of village roads are paved; 70% of main internal field roads are paved,...

According to Duong Huy Toan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Quang Truc commune, Quang Truc is a particularly difficult border commune, where the lives of the people are still lacking in many ways, and the awareness of some ethnic minority people is still limited... Therefore, hostile forces exploit these weaknesses to incite unrest, distort the truth, and pose a potential risk to security and order in the area.
