According to reports, Artillery Company 10 (Defense Command of Area 6 - Con Dao Special Zone) is stationed in a high mountain area and currently lacks a clean water supply system. The unit mainly relies on stored rainwater, resulting in frequent shortages of fresh water for the daily lives of officers and soldiers, especially during the peak of the dry season.
In response to this situation, the Command of Defense Zone 6 - Con Dao Special Zone coordinated with relevant agencies and units to conduct a survey in order to develop a plan and propose to the competent authorities the construction of a clean water supply system for Artillery Company 10.
According to the survey plan, this clean water supply system has a total length of approximately 2,000m, with an elevation difference of 217m from the starting point to the end point; it is planned to build 5 new intermediate reservoirs, each with a capacity of 30m³ , with an elevation difference between the reservoirs ranging from 40m to 50m.
After listening to the contributions and discussions from specialized agencies and units, as well as the opinions of the leaders of the Con Dao Special Zone, Major General Vu Van Dien emphasized: The project to provide clean water to Artillery Company 10 is of practical significance, contributing to improving living conditions for officers and soldiers, serving the training and combat readiness of the unit stationed in the high mountainous area, as well as serving the task of forest fire prevention and control. Therefore, relevant agencies and units should coordinate to review and implement the project procedures in accordance with the law, ensuring the quality of the project and contributing to improving the lives of the soldiers.
