On December 11th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology and Canva – a leading global online design platform and technology unicorn (based in New South Wales, Australia) – signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
The collaborative program focuses on training and disseminating digital skills and creative thinking to teachers, students, startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the design and content creation community.
The goal is to give all stakeholders in the ecosystem the opportunity to access world-class tools and competency standards right here in Ho Chi Minh City.
The implementation of specific activities will help strengthen and elevate the city's innovation ecosystem, aiming to attract more technology unicorns and large corporations from around the world to collaborate and invest in product development.
Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, stated that the event demonstrates that the city is not only home to domestic technology unicorns but also a reliable and attractive destination for international technology unicorns. Ho Chi Minh City boasts a vibrant startup ecosystem, a workforce of intellectuals, entrepreneurs, technology experts, and a highly creative youth. This is a crucial foundation for developing globally competitive technology products and services. The city is entering a new phase of development with the aspiration to become a leading innovation and technology hub in the region.
The collaboration between the City's Department of Science and Technology and the tech unicorn Canva is one of the concrete activities contributing to realizing that aspiration.
