“Saturday Numbers” helps people in Lao Bao border area

QTO - In order to help people save time and facilitate administrative transactions, the People's Committee, police and mass organizations of Lao Bao commune have just coordinated to organize the program "Digital Saturday" to serve people in activating VNeID level 2 accounts, integrating health insurance cards and personal documents. This practical activity not only helps people gradually integrate all important documents, grasp how to use and operate proficiently on the digital platform to perform administrative transactions, but also contributes to promoting digital transformation in this border locality.

The program "Digital Saturday" was held simultaneously at 3 locations including: Headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune (the People's Committee of the old Tan Long commune); An Tiem village community house and the headquarters of the Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Lao Bao commune. From early morning, hundreds of local people took the opportunity to arrange their work to go to the locations to be guided on activating VNeID level 2 accounts. Here, officials of the People's Committee, unions, and police force of Lao Bao commune were present to enthusiastically guide and support the activation of VNeID level 2 accounts; integrating personal documents such as: Health insurance card, driver's license, vehicle registration, other personal documents for people.

Hearing that the commune organized support for integrating documents into a level 2 VNeID account, Ms. Ho Thi Minh, a Van Kieu ethnic, living in Ka Tang village, took time off from her daily work in the fields and arrived early at Lao Bao commune headquarters to receive help. Ms. Minh brought her smartphone, a chip-embedded citizen ID card, and some of her personal documents to ask for support from the staff. After carefully observing, listening, and being guided by the staff to integrate the documents, Ms. Minh gradually understood and was able to perform the basic operations. “For a long time, I have been trying to follow the instructions on the internet, but I did not understand much and was afraid of making mistakes, so I could not do it. Now that the staff directly helped me to successfully integrate the personal documents into the account, I am very happy. The staff also guided me on how to recognize the types of documents and how to conduct administrative transactions on the account. I will learn more to perform transactions more proficiently and confidently,” Ms. Minh said.

After being helped to integrate driver's license, driving license, health insurance card into the account, Mr. Le Van Tam, Xuan Phuoc village shared: "In the future, when doing administrative procedures, going to the hospital or participating in traffic, if you accidentally forget or lose your documents, the documents will be integrated into the VNeID account with level 2 identification, so it is very convenient and useful." In addition to helping to integrate documents, people like Ms. Minh and Mr. Tam are also enthusiastically guided on issues such as forgetting passwords, changing phone numbers and some other common questions... related to VNeID accounts.

With the highest spirit, responsibility and determination of the staff and police force, the first "Digital Saturday" in Lao Bao commune supported nearly 500 local people to successfully activate VNeID level 2 accounts and integrate necessary documents.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, Vice Chairwoman of Lao Bao Commune People's Committee, said that the "Digital Saturday" program was organized to help local people, especially the elderly, the disabled, and people with technological difficulties, integrate necessary documents and get familiar with performing administrative transactions via VNeID accounts. According to Ms. Nga, in the coming time, the locality will continue to organize similar programs and activities so that each Lao Bao resident has a VNeID account, fully integrated with important documents, aiming to carry out all administrative procedures on the Public Service Portal. The good news is that most local people have a high spirit of response, enthusiastically arranging work and time to participate in integrating VNeID accounts.

“Through “Digital Saturday”, we want to send a message to the people that let's transform digitally together to move towards a modern administration, thereby helping people carry out administrative procedures in the most convenient way, with the least time-consuming but most effective way”, Vice Chairwoman of Lao Bao Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga shared.

Integrating documents into the VNeID application will help people not to carry many documents when performing administrative transactions; secure personal information, can be presented quickly by QR code; save time, costs and contribute to improving work efficiency. This is an important step in the roadmap to implement digital transformation, build e-government and digital citizens in Lao Bao commune in the coming time.
