105th Asian Athletics Council Meeting: Affirming the role and position of Vietnamese Athletics

On the morning of November 24, the 105th Asian Athletics Council meeting took place in Hanoi. The event also affirmed the growing prestige and role of Vietnamese Athletics.

The Asian Athletics Council Meeting is the most important annual event of the Asian Athletics Continent to summarize activities, discuss and approve many key decisions on the organization of competitions in the official competition system of Asia and build long-term strategies for the Asian athletics movement.

In addition, the event also aims to review and evaluate the achievements and challenges of the Athletics movement in recent times, thereby providing new directions to meet the development trend of Athletics in Asia in the new period.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration, affirmed that developing Athletics is not only about developing a sport , but also about developing human resources, inspiring the young generation, and contributing to building a dynamic, healthy, and civilized society.

In recent years, under the close attention and direction of the Party, the State, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnam Sports Administration, Vietnam Athletics has achieved many great achievements, making deeper contributions to the development of the Asian Athletics movement - a movement that is increasingly innovative, professional, and full of aspirations to reach the world .

The Director said that the Party and State of Vietnam always consider sports as an important part of the strategy for developing Vietnamese people. Sports are not only soft power, but also the image of the country, a bridge of peace and friendship between nations.

In that overall strategy, Athletics has always received special attention. Recently, the Prime Minister approved the Project "Developing Vietnam Athletics to 2030, with a vision to 2045". This clearly demonstrates Vietnam's determination to make this sport an important driving force to improve the physical strength, stature, quality of life and image of Vietnamese people in the new era.

"Developing Athletics is not only about developing a sport, but also about developing human resources, inspiring the young generation, contributing to building a dynamic, healthy and civilized society. Therefore, Vietnam is always ready to expand cooperation with countries around the world, ready to accompany Asian Athletics in training programs, professional development projects, as well as in building a fair, transparent, doping-free competition environment, in line with the core values ​​of world sports" - Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet shared.

For his part, President of the Asian Athletics Federation Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad highly appreciated the strong development of Vietnam's Athletics movement, especially the outstanding achievements in regional and continental arenas in recent times, and affirmed that this is a source of inspiration for the entire continent, thereby expressing great expectations and wishing that Vietnamese Athletics will continue to promote these achievements to affirm its sustainable position in larger international arenas.

Through this Conference, Chairman Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad called on the delegates to discuss together, actively propose creative solutions and breakthrough ideas so that the continental Athletics movement can grow higher and shine brighter on the world sports map.
