According to captain Pham Duc Hoa, the Vietnamese futsal team currently possesses the strongest force in the past few years. Although the average age is quite young, most of the players have spent nearly a year working with coach Diego Giustozzi, and have accumulated significant experience through official tournaments.
Players like Vu Ngoc Anh and Nguyen Da Hai have matured quickly and are ready to take on bigger roles in the squad. The combination of young players and experienced pillars creates a “breath of fresh air”, helping the whole team maintain a positive competitive spirit.

Evaluating the playing style under coach Diego Giustozzi, the captain of the Vietnam futsal team said that he and his teammates still maintain the tactical foundations that have operated stably over the past few years. The outstanding strengths are the abundant energy and the ability to directly pressure the opponent's field. During this preparation period, the Argentine strategist asked the whole team to play more directly, creating breakthroughs through speedy coordination between each pair of positions.
Regarding the preparation process, Duc Hoa said the team is focusing on improving their physical strength and individual techniques. With the competition density of 4 matches in 4 days at SEA Games 33, the coaching staff has spent two weeks training their physical strength to ensure that the players are able to maintain high competition intensity.
Duc Hoa also admitted that the pressure at the SEA Games is huge, especially when the team's goal is to compete for the highest position. However, what Vietnam futsal has shown in the past, including reaching the final of the 2024 Southeast Asian tournament, is the basis for the team to confidently aim for good results in the upcoming tournament.
“We are determined to win every match. But to reach the highest ranking, the whole team must be in the best form in every match,” he emphasized.
Regarding his personal aspirations, the player who has participated in three SEA Games said that the Gold Medal is still the biggest goal of his career. “If I win the Gold Medal, it will be a historic milestone and the most perfect way for me to end my journey in the national team jersey,” he shared.
With a squad of young players full of potential, the guidance of coach Diego Giustozzi and the determination of leaders like Pham Duc Hoa, the Vietnamese futsal team is heading towards the 33rd SEA Games with great confidence and the goal of conquering the highest ranking.
