Having had the opportunity to accompany the officers and soldiers of the 610th Infantry Battalion on a field exercise in Phuoc Hau commune, we clearly felt the "Serving the People" spirit of the officers and soldiers, as well as the close bond between the military and the people. In just 6 days, the unit's officers and soldiers organized many practical activities such as: cleaning the area around the former Phuoc Vinh Commune People's Committee headquarters; beautifying the landscape and planting flowers inside and around the former Phuoc Vinh Commune Martyrs' Memorial; clearing nearly 500 meters of inter-village and inter-commune roads; repairing houses for 2 families receiving preferential treatment and poor households; visiting and giving gifts to 8 families receiving preferential treatment and those who have contributed to the revolution in the commune.

During this community outreach campaign, the unit also intensified efforts to integrate the dissemination of information and encourage people to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws. In particular, the unit's officers and soldiers organized concentrated legal awareness campaigns, with hundreds of people participating; distributed legal information leaflets to nearly 600 people in the villages of Lien Son 1, Lien Son 2, Phuoc An 1, and Phuoc An 2; and coordinated with the Youth Union, the Women's Union, and the Phuoc Hau Commune Military Command to organize cultural exchanges, incorporating short plays promoting legal awareness, attracting a large number of people to participate. These specific actions during the recent field exercise are part of the regular annual activities of the 610th Infantry Battalion in the "Skilled Community Outreach" emulation movement and the building of a "Good Community Outreach Unit" over the years.
Over the past five years, the unit's officers and soldiers have contributed more than 2,000 man-days of labor to help localities build infrastructure and engage in production; participated in pouring more than 2.5km of concrete roads and renovating, repairing, and clearing more than 11km of inter-village and inter-commune roads; helped people dredge more than 10km of irrigation canals, level 200m³ of soil to create a foundation for road construction, and repair two houses for poor people; planted 100 flowering trees at Do Vinh Primary School; renovated 40 flagpoles along inter-village roads; and participated in building a new rural flower road, more than 4km long, in Ninh Hai and Ninh Phuoc communes...
Building "Good Mass Mobilization Units"
Major Ha Van Nhan, Political Officer of the 610th Infantry Battalion, stated: “The Party Committee and Command of the Battalion always consider the implementation of the ‘Skilled Mass Mobilization’ emulation movement and the building of a ‘Good Mass Mobilization Unit’ as an important political task in building a national defense system and strengthening the people's support. Therefore, the unit regularly organizes briefings on the purpose and significance of the movement to all officers and soldiers; the ‘Skilled Mass Mobilization’ emulation activities and the building of a ‘Good Mass Mobilization Unit’ are organized meticulously and continuously, ensuring practical effectiveness and strong widespread impact, linked to the implementation of the ‘Victory’ emulation movement and other movements and campaigns launched by the Party, State, Fatherland Front, the army, the unit, and the locality. At the same time, we proactively coordinate closely with the Party committees and local authorities where the unit is stationed, affiliated units, areas assigned for mass mobilization work, and localities where the unit trains and conducts exercises to understand, exchange, and grasp information.” "Information helps to ensure that mass mobilization work is always smooth and increasingly effective and practical."

Over the past five years, the battalion, together with the regimental headquarters, has organized visits and presented 80 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, meritorious individuals, and poor households in the area during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year); and contributed to the "For the Poor" Fund, the "Gratitude Fund," the "Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses" Fund, and the "Rice Jar for the Poor" Fund with a total amount of over 370 million VND. In addition, the unit has effectively implemented the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations on ethnic and religious affairs and mass mobilization work; promoted the elimination of outdated customs and practices, and the building of a new cultural lifestyle...
From simple acts of labor to heartfelt gifts, from activities to help people develop their economy to building a new cultural lifestyle, the civilian outreach work of the 610th Infantry Battalion has made a significant contribution to strengthening the people's trust and building a politically strong local area.
