For Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Luyen, more than 20 years of teaching is a journey of continuous learning and innovation. Each lecture for her is not only about imparting knowledge, but also an opportunity to inspire independent thinking, discipline and responsibility in students – soldiers in white coats.
More than twenty years of teaching is a journey of continuous learning and innovation for Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Luyen.
As an English lecturer in a special military medical environment, she is always aware of the need to innovate teaching methods, work scientifically and effectively, and connect with the specific training of military medical students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She struggles to find ways to make lessons closer and more practical. From designing lectures with situations close to the actual training industry, building interactive lesson plans, to applying technology to teaching and learning - all demonstrate the seriousness, creativity and dedication of the professional.
Not only does she teach in class, she also directly trains the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces trained at the Military Medical Academy, trains the English Olympic team, and trains students to participate in military competitions. For many years, the team she is in charge of has achieved high results, contributing to affirming the training quality of the Military Medical Academy in the military foreign language learning movement. Behind each achievement is a quiet dedication - nights of preparing lessons, private tutoring sessions, simple but powerful words of encouragement.
For her, simple joy is when students understand the lesson and confidently use English in work and life. That is what keeps her passionate about her job – calm, persistent and responsible. "When students feel respected, they will awaken their inner strength to progress" - she shared. Therefore, many generations of students still remember Ms. Luyen, who taught them not only English, but also the perseverance and confidence of a soldier.

Not only dedicated to the podium, Colonel, Doctor Nguyen Thi Kim Luyen is also a lecturer passionate about scientific research. Taking care of family and professional work, pursuing research is not easy.
During the period 2020-2025, she presided over 3 basic-level scientific topics, edited 4 textbooks and teaching materials for training platoon-level officers and postgraduate students; presided over 3 international articles published in prestigious specialized journals... Those works not only contributed to the development of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, but also contributed to improving the training quality of the Military Medical Academy in the context of increasingly deep international integration.
Behind the numbers are countless nights spent working at the desk, hours spent reading documents, writing manuscripts, and the spirit of constantly learning from colleagues and experts. For her, scientific research is not about achievements, but about renewing herself, teaching more deeply and contributing to creating real value for the unit. Because each research result, no matter how small, is a brick contributing to the common knowledge base - where she finds the quiet joy of a lecturer and the pride of a soldier.
Spreading positive energy in Association work
If in the lecture hall and in research, Colonel Nguyen Thi Kim Luyen is the one who sows knowledge, then in movement activities, she is the one who spreads the spirit of humanity and connects teammates with sincerity and simplicity.
In the Association's activities, Ms. Luyen has always been an exemplary, enthusiastic and responsible member in all movements. In her, the spirit of "each member is a beautiful flower" is not only a slogan, but is expressed through specific, practical daily actions.
In the activities of the Women's Union of the Department Block, she was a pioneer in participating, from the movements "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean", "Women of the Military Medical Academy actively study, work creatively, build happy families", to the programs "Drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude".
Wherever there is a movement of the Association, there is Ms. Luyen, quietly, persistently and responsibly. Not only that, she is also the "spreading nucleus" in the collective. She said: "I often encourage and motivate women to strive together, to share together so that the work of the Association can be more effective. Because I think, the Association is not only a place for activities but also a common home, where each member can share, be understood and have the opportunity to develop their own capacity."
"Doing anything requires enthusiasm and sincerity to touch other people's hearts" - she confided.
