“Marrying a Snake” is part of the Fairy Tale World series broadcast on THVL1. The story opens with the warm scene of Mr. Do’s family (actor Hoa Hiep) - a wealthy businessman, living peacefully with his wife (actress Nguyet Anh) and little daughter Ngoc Huong.
Although the family was not rich, it was well-off and respected by many for its discipline and loyalty. However, Mr. Do still longed to do big business to change his life and have a better future for his wife and children. Mrs. Do was worried about the risks, but because she trusted her husband, she agreed.

Determined to use all his capital, even borrow more to trade a large shipment, but Mr. Do did not expect disaster to strike. A fierce storm sank both boats and all the goods, leaving Mr. Do devastated.
In the midst of his despair and thoughts of suicide, a strange young man asked him and offered to help him get his money back, as long as he agreed to one condition: Give him the first thing that touches his feet when he returns to his house gate, and the young man will come to claim it eighteen years later.

In his drunken state, thinking it was just his pet dog that often ran out to greet him, he nodded and signed the contract. In the morning, the young man disappeared. Mr. Do remembered his dream, startled, and returned home.
Returning home, the first person to run out and hug him was not the dog but his three-year-old daughter Ngoc Huong. But at this moment, he did not pay any attention to the dream he had had last night about meeting the strange young man…
