South Korean National Assembly Chairman visits Hyundai Thanh Cong Auto Factory

The program is part of the official visit to Vietnam from November 20 to 22 of the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea at the invitation of Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man , aiming to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two countries.

At the reception, National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik heard an introduction to the Thanh Cong – Hyundai automobile and supporting industry complex in Ninh Binh . This is the main production center of the joint venture, with two automobile assembly plants, a total capacity of nearly 180,000 vehicles per year, and many supporting industrial activities. The HTMV2 factory, inaugurated in 2022, is built according to the smart factory model, applying many of Hyundai's most advanced technologies.

Hyundai Thanh Cong Joint Venture is the result of more than 16 years of cooperation between Thanh Cong Group and Hyundai Motor, starting from 2009. To date, more than 30 Hyundai passenger and commercial vehicle models have been introduced and manufactured in Vietnam, distributed through a system of more than 100 dealers nationwide. For many years, the Hyundai brand has been among the top car brands trusted and chosen by Vietnamese consumers.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Woo Won Shik highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between Thanh Cong Group and Hyundai Motor, and considered this a symbol of the development of the Vietnam - Korea strategic partnership in the field of manufacturing industry.

Mr. Le Ngoc Duc - Vice President of Thanh Cong Group said that the Group is implementing many plans to expand production, increase the localization rate and develop a modern automobile industry ecosystem in Vietnam. He emphasized that the success of the Thanh Cong - Hyundai joint venture will contribute to promoting the increasingly strong and effective cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.

Mr. Le Ngoc Duc - Vice Chairman of Thanh Cong Group expressed his wish to continue receiving support from the Government and National Assembly of Korea to further develop the cooperative relationship between Thanh Cong Group and Hyundai Motor.

During the visit, the Chairman of the National Assembly of Korea and the delegation directly visited the production line at HTMV2 Factory. He expressed special concern for the working conditions of the workers and highly appreciated the policies to care for the health and life of the staff here.

Chairman of Thanh Cong Group expressed his wish to continue receiving support, companionship and assistance from the Korean Government, the Korean National Assembly and Mr. Woo Won Shik personally so that the Hyundai Thanh Cong joint venture can develop more strongly in the future.
