The straw buffalo and stubble cow festival aims to present and introduce farming - a main and long-standing profession of the village. The straw buffalo and stubble cow performance expresses the wishes of the people of Dai Dong: Praying for the protection and blessing of the gods and tutelary gods so that plants grow well, livestock and poultry continuously reproduce, and crops are bountiful. The "straw buffalo and stubble cow" performance expresses the wishes of the people here for a year of favorable weather and good crops.

The villagers dressed each other up. Boys dressed as girls and girls dressed as men.
At the auspicious hour, the Elder offered incense and performed the ceremony to pay respect to the ancestors. After a drum beat, the ceremony would begin.
