Honoring 150 'inspirers'

The "Honoring the Torchbearer" Award 2025, organized by Dai Doan Ket Newspaper under the direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , will be presented at the end of November.

The "Honoring the Inspirer" award is a national community campaign that aims to celebrate 150 ordinary yet extraordinary individuals who are quietly contributing to the community, spreading beautiful stories, positive values, and aspirations for excellence across the country.

With the theme "Vietnamese People - Torchbearers for the Nation's Progress," this year's "Honoring Torchbearers" award attracted approximately 300 nominations from 33 provinces and cities. These are all outstanding individuals carefully selected by their respective localities, representing living symbols of the Vietnamese spirit of resilience, responsibility, and aspiration for progress.

Dr. Nguyen Dang Khang, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dai Doan Ket Newspaper and Chairman of the Award Judging Council, stated that after reviewing and evaluating nominations from provinces and cities, based on the announced selection criteria including target groups, key areas, and core selection criteria, the council has selected 150 outstanding individuals to be honored.

This award is not limited to one place or field; its scope extends across provinces and cities, honoring individuals in over six areas: education and vocational training; community development; sustainable environmental development; culture, arts, and sports for the community; balanced lifestyle and public health; and science and technology for the community. Alongside this are many meaningful and impactful activities that comprehensively reflect sustainable development and a positive lifestyle within the community.

According to the organizers, the award prioritizes new talents from the community: individuals who have never received major awards at the central or international level; who are discovered through the Vietnam Fatherland Front's nomination system at the grassroots level or are nominated by the community; and who have practical activities but have not yet received widespread media attention.

In particular, the online voting for the 15 most inspiring stories created a sense of community interaction, demonstrating the community's interest in and recognition of individuals who have initiatives and contributions to serving the community.

Along with online voting from the community, the council will evaluate and select the 15 most deserving individuals to be honored nationally.

The online voting portal for the "Honoring the Inspirer" Award is open on the program's website. Each individual can vote for a maximum of one person within 24 hours, and there is no limit to the number of votes throughout the program, until November 23rd.
