The "Honoring the Inspirers" Award is a national community campaign to honor 150 ordinary but extraordinary individuals who are quietly contributing to the community, spreading beautiful stories, positive values and aspirations to reach high levels across the country.
With the theme "Vietnamese people - the ones who inspire the country's progress", this year's "Honoring the Inspirers" award attracted about 300 nominations from 33 provinces and cities. These are the most typical faces carefully selected by localities to introduce and are living symbols of the resilience, responsibility and aspiration of the Vietnamese people.
Dr. Nguyen Dang Khang, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, Chairman of the Award Appraisal Council, said that through reviewing and evaluating nominations from provinces and cities, based on the announced selection criteria including subjects, key areas and core voting criteria, the council selected 150 outstanding faces to honor.
Not only focusing on one place, in one field, this award has a wide scope across provinces and cities, individuals are honored in over 6 fields such as: education - vocational training; community development; sustainable environmental development; culture - art - sports for the community; balanced lifestyle and community health; science - technology for the community. Along with that are many meaningful parallel activities with strong spreading effects to comprehensively reflect sustainable development and beautiful lifestyle in the community.
According to the organizers, the award prioritizes new elements from the community: individuals who have never received major awards at the central or international level; discovered through the nomination system of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the grassroots level or introduced by the community; have practical activities but have never been widely communicated.
In particular, the online voting for the 15 most inspirational stories has created an element of community interaction, demonstrating the community's interest and recognition of individuals with initiatives and contributions to serve the community.
Along with online voting from the community, the council will evaluate and select 15 most deserving faces to be honored nationwide.
The online voting portal for the "Honoring the Inspirer" Award is open on the program's website. Each individual can vote for a maximum of 1 person within 24 hours and there is no limit to the number of votes during the program, until November 23.
