On November 22, in Thoi Son ward, Dong Thap province, the Regional Political Academy IV coordinated with Dong Thap Political School to organize a ministerial-level scientific workshop "Green transformation in the Mekong Delta: opportunities, challenges and solutions".

Green transformation is the most urgent requirement in the current context, when the socio- economy in our country in general and in the Mekong Delta in particular has been facing many challenges regarding environmental resources and sustainable development.
The green transition will bring many important benefits such as: reducing costs and increasing competitiveness through automation, minimizing negative impacts on the environment, helping to protect natural resources and reducing pollution.
At the workshop, delegates presented and discussed green transformation in the Mekong Delta region - from a theoretical to practical perspective; green transformation - an inevitable trend in global and Vietnamese sustainable development; typical circular economic models in urban agriculture in the Southeast and potential applications in the green transformation process in the Mekong Delta...
The workshop is a meaningful and practical activity; aiming to create a scientific forum for exchange, discussion and sharing of experiences between leaders, managers, scientists, lecturers and practitioners; contributing to clarifying theoretical and practical issues, providing a basis for consulting, perfecting mechanisms and policies and improving the effectiveness of green transformation in the context of the country promoting restructuring of the growth model, finding new growth methods and drivers.
This is also an opportunity to look back and deeply evaluate the development process of the Mekong Delta region in the new context, while affirming strong political determination in implementing the Party and State's policy on green transformation - a strategic direction to ensure sustainable development, improve people's quality of life, conserve natural resources, and be environmentally friendly.
