On the morning of November 20th, information from the People's Committee of Dai Lanh commune (Khanh Hoa province) indicated that numerous landslides had occurred in the Co Ma pass area and the southern part of the Ca pass on National Highway 1A connecting Dak Lak (formerly Phu Yen) and Khanh Hoa province, posing a traffic safety hazard. Soil, rocks, and trees slid down from the embankment, blocking more than half of the road.

A large amount of soil and rocks has fallen onto the road, in some places almost completely covering the road surface. Photo: DT.
Authorities quickly cordoned off the area, placed warning signs, and deployed self-defense forces to dangerous locations to guide and prevent vehicles from passing through. The commune also reported the incident to the road management unit to promptly implement a remedial plan.
