On November 19 and this morning, November 20, heavy rain continued to occur in the mountainous districts of Da Nang City, leaving people and authorities exhausted to cope. National Highway 14D has many serious landslides. Large amounts of rocks and soil have fallen onto the road, which is very dangerous. In the border commune of La Êê, Da Nang City, due to prolonged heavy rain, a serious subsidence has occurred on the main road leading to the commune, with a length of nearly 200m.
Meanwhile, the severe landslide on Highway 40B also caused traffic congestion. In communes such as Hung Son, Tra Doc, Tra My... thousands of people still had to take shelter in schools and commune health stations to avoid landslides.
In Quang Ngai, there are currently more than 60 landslides. The most important route of Quang Ngai province is National Highway 24, which connects the provincial capital with the entire western region, and has been continuously landslided in recent days. Kon Tum Traffic Construction and Management Joint Stock Company has been assigned to handle the landslides. In the communes, local forces also quickly took action when the road collapsed.
With the spirit of urgently clearing landslides and making efforts to clear traffic, Quang Ngai province is mobilizing forces and being ready for any situation. At all costs, landslides must not cause long-term separation and isolation.
