Attending the event were Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of the city Nguyen Cong Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Tran Thi Man, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province Nguyen Tan Phu; former Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee Phan Viet Cuong, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province Dinh Van Thu.
The congress was also attended by more than 30 Da Nang - Quang Nam compatriot liaison committees across the country, along with nearly 1,000 delegates who are Da Nang and Quang Nam compatriots living and working in Dong Nai and former Binh Phuoc provinces.
At the congress, the Quang Nam - Da Nang fellow countrymen association in Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces was merged into the Da Nang city fellow countrymen association in Dong Nai province, with an executive board of 19 members, headed by Mr. Tran Cong Canh.
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Tran Cong Canh expressed his gratitude for the attention and facilitation of leaders at all levels, and affirmed that the Liaison Committee will continue to promote its role of connecting and supporting each other, contributing to uniting the community of Quang people living far from home.
On behalf of the leaders of Da Nang city, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu informed about the recent socio-economic development situation of Da Nang, saying that the city maintained stable growth in most areas, in which tourism continued to be a bright spot with high increase in the number of visitors and revenue.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee acknowledged the contributions of fellow countrymen to their homeland over the past years, especially the activities towards the Central region during the natural disasters in late October and early November, demonstrating the spirit of "fellow countrymen and love for Quang Nam".
At the same time, we hope that the Da Nang - Quang Nam community in Dong Nai in particular and across the country in general will continue to live well, work actively, obey the law, preserve local cultural identity, and become a bridge to spread the image of friendly, loyal and responsible Da Nang - Quang Nam people.
