It is forecasted that this evening, the storm will make landfall on Luzon Island (Philippines); tomorrow morning (November 10), typhoon Fung-Wong will enter the East Sea. This could be the 14th storm this year.
The storm then moves west-northwest at a speed of about 25km/h. By 1pm tomorrow, the storm's center will be in the eastern sea of the North East Sea, with a strong intensity of level 13 (134-149km/h), gusting to level 16.
In the next 24-48 hours, the storm will move in a northwest and northeast direction, towards Taiwan (China) and gradually weaken.
According to the meteorological agency, after entering the East Sea, the storm did not move in the usual westerly direction but moved north because the subtropical high pressure in the north (the current that guides the storm's movement) weakened in intensity and expanded further south of the storm.
As it moves to higher latitudes, the storm will enter the guiding flow of the upper westerly wind zone, so it is likely to change direction to the Northeast and leave the East Sea.
Due to the influence of the storm, from today in the eastern sea area of the North East Sea, there will be strong winds of level 6-7, later increasing to level 8-10, the area near the storm's eye will be strong at level 11-13, gusting to level 16, waves 4-6m high, later increasing to 6-8m, the area near the storm's eye will be 8-10m.
All vessels operating in the above mentioned danger zones are susceptible to storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
