Do Hoang Hen is not sad that he has not been called up to the Vietnam national team.

Naturalized player Do Hoang Hen affirmed that he is always ready to wear the Vietnamese national team shirt if called up by coach Kim Sang Sik in the near future.

After becoming a Vietnamese citizen at the end of October, Do Hoang Hen was very eager to wear the national team jersey. However, in the national team training session before FIFA Days in November, this naturalized player was not named because he was not yet in coach Kim Sang Sik's plans.

The reason is because Hoang Hen can only play for the Vietnamese team in early 2026, according to FIFA regulations.

When asked if he was sad that he had not been called up to the Vietnamese national team, Do Hoang Hen just smiled.

"Currently I have not been called up to the national team, but when Kim Sang Sik calls me, I will still be ready," Do Hoang Hen answered in an interview on the evening of November 10.

In contrast to Do Hoang Hen, his close friend Nguyen Xuan Son was called up to the Vietnam national team after recovering from injury after nearly a year of absence.

Xuan Son and 22 teammates will prepare for the match against Laos in the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, taking place on November 19.

Do Hoang Hen said: "Xuan Son is very happy for me. He is very happy that I have Vietnamese nationality because I have waited for this for so long."

Do Hoang Hen is trying to regain his best form in Hanoi FC shirt.

After just 5 matches, he contributed 2 goals and 1 assist, helping the capital team improve their position on the V-League 2025 - 2026 rankings.

If nothing changes, Do Hoang Hen will join the Vietnamese national team with Nguyen Xuan Son in the training session in March 2026, to prepare for the decisive match with Malaysia.
