Coach Kim Chi said that the HCMC Women's Club aims to pass the group stage. Regarding the opponents of Group A, the former Vietnam Women's Golden Ball said: "Stallion Laguna and Lion City Sailors are quite suitable for the HCMC Women's Club. The first two matches are an opportunity for us to accumulate points. The representative from Australia is considered to have superior skills. Therefore, the HCMC Women's Club will try hard in each match, making appropriate calculations when facing Melbourne City."

In the 2024-2025 season, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club made history by reaching the semi-finals of the Asian Women's Cup C1. During that journey, Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi's team alternated using foreign players and overseas Vietnamese players such as Chelsea Le and Ashley Tram Anh. This year, the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club has had some changes and currently has 6 foreign players, including central defenders Aubrey Goodwill and Gorman Chloe; defender Ouni Samia (Tunisia); midfielders Sakura Yoshida and Tatiana Mason (USA) and striker Maria Khan (USA). Gorman Chloe and Ouni Samia are 2 new players.

In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City women's team also has a quality addition in the "goalkeeper" position, when goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh returns (Thanh is currently playing for Thai Nguyen T&T women's club). Captain Huynh Nhu said: "With Kim Thanh, we have more support before entering a tense tournament with very strong and experienced opponents. The 2025-2026 AFC Women's Cup will use Football Video Support (FVS) for the first time. FVS does not have a video referee and does not check automatically, so the head coach (or the highest technical officer, or the players on the field and the substitutes) has the right to request a review of the situation by rotating their index finger in the air, then handing the review request card to the fourth referee. This card must be submitted immediately after the situation occurs, to avoid unnecessary delays and ensure compliance with the rules of the game (no change of decision is allowed after the ball has been rolled back). Each team has a maximum of 2 review requests and 1 additional request if the match goes into extra time.
