According to the latest data from Forbes (November 10), billionaire Prajogo Pangestu currently owns an estimated net worth of 44.4 billion USD, ranking 38th in the world and the richest person in Southeast Asia.
He operates mainly in the petrochemical and energy sectors, through companies such as Barito Pacific and Barito Renewables Energy. Prajogo Pangestu first appeared on the Forbes billionaires list in 2017, with assets of about 1.8 billion USD.
Billionaire Low Tuck Kwong
He is known as the “coal king” of Indonesia. Billionaire Low Tuck Kwong is currently ranked 92nd in the world with a net worth of about 25.3 billion USD.
He is the founder of Bayan Resources – a major coal miner in Indonesia – and also runs Metis Energy, a Singapore-based renewable energy company, and holds stakes in The Farrer Park Company and Samindo Resources.
Billionaires R. Budi Hartono and Michael Hartono
Brothers R. Budi Hartono and Michael Hartono are ranked 107th and 114th in the world, with estimated net worths of $21.9 billion and $21 billion, respectively.
The bulk of their wealth comes from their investment in Bank Central Asia (BCA), which they acquired after the 1997–1998 Asian financial crisis. The Hartono family started out in the tobacco industry and remains one of Indonesia's largest cigarette manufacturers.
In 2022, the brothers took their company Global Digital Niaga – owner of e-commerce platform Blibli – public, raising $510 million in Indonesia's second-largest IPO.
