Vingroup shares surged, driving the market up by more than 8 points.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Vingroup shares rose nearly 6% to 215,000 VND per unit. The assets of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of Vingroup - also increased sharply, reaching 20 billion USD.

Today's trading session (October 23rd) saw a tug-of-war in the market. At times, the VN-Index traded around the reference level, with strong divergence among blue-chip stocks.

Towards the end of the session, the market stabilized and showed signs of improvement. The VN-Index closed up 8.56 points at 1,687.06 points. Liquidity decreased sharply compared to yesterday's session, falling to 24,578 billion VND on the HoSE.

VIC ( Vingroup ) shares saw the strongest gains among VN30 stocks. By the end of the session, the stock had risen 5.91% to 215,000 VND/unit, contributing 10.4 points to the overall index. Trading volume reached over 4.7 million shares.

Alongside this, VHM (Vinhomes) and VRE (Vincom Retail) also performed well, positively impacting the index. The wealth of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of Vingroup - also increased significantly, reaching $20 billion, ranking 118th on the list of the world's richest people.

Besides Vingroup's stocks being the highlight, today's market also saw many stocks on the HoSE exchange hitting the ceiling price, such as SVC, LGC, DXV, VSC, SVD, TNI, TPC...

Foreign investors continued to net sell 1,265 billion VND in this session. Stocks that experienced heavy net selling included CTG, VHM, MSN, SSI, TCB, VCB...
