Strengthen patrols and propaganda during the peak period of preventing and combating IUU fishing

To carry out the peak period of preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, on November 13, Nha Trang Port Border Guard Station organized patrols, inspections, controls and propaganda in the sea area of ​​Nha Trang Bay, Hon Ro fishing port and Cua Be fishing port.

Officers and soldiers of the Nha Trang Port Border Guard Station inspected, instructed and disseminated legal regulations on IUU to ship owners, captains and fishermen operating in Nha Trang Bay waters and anchoring at fishing ports. At the same time, they reminded fishermen to fully comply with procedures when entering and leaving ports, maintain the operation of voyage monitoring equipment, record fishing logs and absolutely not violate foreign waters.

The peak period of IUU prevention and control by Nha Trang Port Border Guard Station aims to raise awareness and responsibility of fishermen in exploiting seafood legally and sustainably, contributing to the whole country's efforts to remove the European Commission's IUU "yellow card" for the Vietnamese seafood industry.
