Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh stated that, in order to best prepare for the 33rd SEA Games to be held in Thailand this December, the Vietnam Sports Department has closely coordinated with relevant units to organize training for 1,800 athletes at various centers and localities; and decided to increase the daily meal allowance for athletes on the list of participants to 480,000 VND as per regulations. According to preliminary registrations, the Vietnamese sports delegation will participate in 47 sports.

Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong gave decisive instructions at the working session.
During the meeting, the heads of each sport and the coaches reported on the preparation and training of the athletes, along with the medal targets set. Basically, the athletes are all training seriously and disciplinedly, determined to achieve the best possible results. With the opening day of the largest Southeast Asian Games fast approaching, training for all teams has been intensified. Most sports are training twice a day, with many even training on weekends…
In particular, several key sports such as Athletics and Shooting have shown positive signs ahead of the Games.
Specifically, for Athletics, according to the report, this year the coaching staff has set a target of winning 12 or more gold medals. In particular, some events will produce a new generation of young athletes who have been preparing for the past two years, notably those in the 100m and 4x100m relay events.
Representatives from various disciplines and coaching staff presented their reports at the meeting.
Over the past two years, the young athletes have received thorough training and shown consistent development. Currently, the 100m and 4x100m relay teams are in the pre-competition phase. During the period leading up to and during the preparation phase, the coaching staff will adjust the intensity accordingly. Despite participating in the Games for the first time, the young athletes are all in good form and are considered capable of competing for gold medals.
Meanwhile, the shooting team is also entering its final stages before "marching" to Thailand. To ensure the best preparation for the athletes, the Vietnam Sports Department has coordinated with units such as the Army and the Police to provide support and ensure training equipment such as guns (each key athlete is equipped with 3 guns), ammunition, etc. Shooters who have participated in the ASIAD and the Olympics, such as Trinh Thu Vinh, Le Thi Mong Tuyen, and Pham Quang Huy, will continue to participate in the Games. The shooting team is expected to win at least 7 gold medals.
After hearing the report, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong, along with leaders of the Vietnam Sports Department, representatives of various sports disciplines, and coaching staff, analyzed, evaluated, and reviewed the factors and targets, and agreed on a general target for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games: to win 100 gold medals.

Deputy Director Nguyen Hong Minh speaks at the working session.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director Nguyen Hong Minh requested that the departments and coaching staff continue to implement the plan and adhere to the set targets, but emphasized that they should not put pressure on the athletes: "Athletes must be allowed to have the most comfortable mindset, creating peace of mind during training and competition."
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized that there is not much time left until the 33rd SEA Games, therefore, all preparations need to be carried out urgently, meticulously, and thoroughly.
"Head coaches in charge of each discipline need to disseminate specific and detailed information so that other members understand the content of the work in order to implement it, strive, and ensure that the targets are met. In addition, department leaders under the Bureau need to coordinate closely with the Centers, heads of disciplines, and coaching staff to ensure that training in the remaining time is as effective and scientific as possible, while also enhancing responsibility in the health care, food, and accommodation of athletes," the Deputy Minister assigned.
