Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung was elected Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee.

(CPV) - On the afternoon of November 13, at the thematic session of the Hanoi People's Council, with 100% of the delegates present in agreement, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term; comrade Tran The Cuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training, was elected Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council for the 2021-2026 term; comrade Nguyen Xuan Luu, former Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the 18th City Party Committee, Director of the Hanoi Department of Finance, was elected Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

The meeting carried out the procedure to dismiss comrade Tran Sy Thanh from the position of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee because he was mobilized, assigned and elected by the Politburo to hold the position of Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Commission ; at the same time, elected comrade Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung was born in 1974, hometown Thanh Hoa province; professional qualifications: Master of Political Economy, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of English; Political theory level: Senior. Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung worked for many years at the Ministry of Planning and Investment , holding the position of Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment. In March 2020, he worked in Nghe An province, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. In November 2024, he was elected as Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; in October 2025, he was re-elected as Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee. On November 10, 2025, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung was mobilized and appointed by the Politburo to join the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; introduced to be elected as Chairman of the Hanoi City People's Committee.

Also at the meeting, comrade Tran The Cuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training, was elected Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

Comrade Tran The Cuong was born in 1973, from Hanoi, has a PhD in Economics, a Bachelor of Biology - Agricultural Engineering. He has held positions such as Head of the Culture - Social Committee of the People's Council; Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Tu Liem District (old), then held the position of Secretary of the Bac Tu Liem District Party Committee (old) for the 2020 - 2025 term. From March 1, 2021, comrade Tran The Cuong was mobilized by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and assigned to hold the position of Director of the Department of Culture - Sports. In August 2021, he was appointed to hold the position of Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training until now. In October 2025, comrade Tran The Cuong was elected by the Executive Committee of the 18th Hanoi Party Committee to be a member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

On the same afternoon, delegates voted to dismiss the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, comrade Le Hong Son (waiting for retirement) and Nguyen Trong Dong (receiving a new assignment); and elected comrade Nguyen Xuan Luu, Director of the Department of Finance, to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.

The Hanoi People's Council also elected an additional Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee. Specifically, comrade Nguyen Xuan Luu, former Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the 18th City Party Committee, Director of the Hanoi Department of Finance, was elected Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term. Previously, on the afternoon of November 12, the Hanoi Party Committee voted for comrade Nguyen Xuan Luu, member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, to cease participating in the Inspection Committee of the City Party Committee and cease holding the position of Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the 18th City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, to be introduced to the Hanoi People's Council to be elected as Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Luu was born in 1969, from Hanoi, and has worked in Hanoi for many years. Before being elected Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, he was Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Xuan District (old); then he worked at the Hanoi Department of Finance, holding the position of Director of the Hanoi Department of Finance. On October 17, 2025, he was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Hanoi Party Committee's Inspection Committee, term XVIII.

Thus, after the reorganization, the leadership of the Hanoi People's Committee includes: Chairman Nguyen Duc Trung and Vice Chairmen Duong Duc Tuan, Nguyen Manh Quyen, Truong Viet Dung, Nguyen Xuan Luu and Vu Thu Ha./.
