Young players' careers are affected by pubalgia. |
Medical expert Dr. Roberto Seijas emphasized: "In young players who are in the stage of muscle development and flexibility, such injuries are quite common. When they build up their fitness while playing at a high level, cases like Yamal, Mastantuono or Williams are understandable."
According to doctors, chronic pubic inflammation comes from an imbalance between abdominal muscle strength and leg strength. The thigh adductor muscle group plays a key role, supporting dribbling, running and jumping movements, but this strength puts pressure on the pubic bone area.
"Injuries don't end a player's career, but they need to be treated properly. It's not something one can just live with. Recovery involves a combination of rest, stretching, core training, and increased flexibility to balance adductor strength," Dr. Seijas recommends.
Chronic pubic inflammation is becoming a "nightmare" for many young talents, and how they handle this injury will determine the speed of development and stability of their future careers.
Notably, Lionel Messi also had to treat similar injuries twice between 2000 and 2008.
