On November 10, Hanoi City Police began implementing a 60-day and night peak plan to review and clean up vehicle registration data and driver's licenses in the area.
The plan aims to build a database of vehicles and driving licenses, ensuring the criteria of “correct, sufficient, clean, and alive”, thereby improving the effectiveness of state management of vehicles and drivers of road motor vehicles. This data will be connected to the National Data Center, serving the sharing and exploitation of information with units inside and outside the police sector.

Major General Nguyen Hong Ky, Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police, said that the city's police force is reviewing and cleaning up nearly 8 million vehicle data, about 130,000 driver's license data, and digitizing nearly 8 million vehicle registration records that are being managed.
“The City Police have coordinated with the Public Administration Service Center to study methods for collecting, reviewing, and updating vehicle registration and driver's license data from manual methods to information technology applications through the iHanoi platform. This method helps to significantly reduce the workload and manual processing time for officers and soldiers; save printing costs; and at the same time, improve accuracy by comparing collected data with data provided by the Traffic Police Department,” said Major General Nguyen Hong Ky.
The Deputy Director of the City Police emphasized that Hanoi is a pioneer in applying information technology to the collection and cleaning of vehicle registration data, driver's licenses and digitizing vehicle registration records.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Me - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi Police, the "campaign" will be deployed in 2 phases.
"In phase 1, we will step up propaganda, and at the same time, the police of the communes will review cases where information about vehicles and vehicle owners has not been declared to mobilize and guide people to self-declare on the iHanoi application. In phase 2, we will update information on the vehicle registration system," informed Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Me.

Previously, on October 24, the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) said that the national traffic police are reviewing and standardizing vehicle data and driver's licenses. The plan aims to connect and synchronize with the national population database, ensuring that each citizen and each vehicle has only one identification code.
According to the representative of the Traffic Police Department, the above activity also contributes to cleaning up "correct - sufficient - clean" data to prevent fraud and falsification of information, while protecting the legitimate rights of people in registration, transfer of ownership, handling of violations and performing online public services.
