“The award helps me to be more confident, have more opportunities to learn and exchange experiences with colleagues in other businesses. More importantly, I want to bring that knowledge and experience back to apply at my company, contributing to many initiatives and improvements to improve work quality, shorten production time while still ensuring high efficiency,” Mr. Tien emphasized.

It is known that Mr. Tien's main job at the Company is programming, processing and operating metal cutting machines. "Every day, I work with many devices such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, universal lathes, universal milling machines, drilling machines and even surface grinders. The job requires meticulousness, precision and perseverance, but I always feel excited because I can do the right job and see the results of my labor," said Mr. Tien.

Participating in the contest for skilled workers in the universal lathe category, Mr. Tien said that before the exam, the company and his colleagues created very good conditions for him to review, both practice and improve his skills, and consolidate his theoretical knowledge.

“In my opinion, this year’s exam is at a moderate level, not too difficult but requires precision and especially time management. In vocational exams, “winning over time” is the decisive factor for success - if you stay calm and control your progress well, the exam will achieve the desired results,” Mr. Tien shared.

At the same time, Mr. Tien also expressed his hope that competitions like this will continue to be expanded, so that more and more workers can demonstrate their skills, exchange, learn and grow together in their work.

Hanoi - the national political and administrative center, a major center of economy, culture, education - training, science - technology and international integration, is growing stronger and stronger, affirming its role as a driving force for regional and national development, with about 250,000 operating enterprises, attracting about 2.7 million workers. Of which, there are over 6,000 enterprises operating in production and business in 09 industrial parks, with about 160,000 workers. On that journey, there has been a significant contribution from the Trade Union organization and the team of workers, civil servants and laborers in the Capital. From the patriotic emulation movements launched by the Trade Union, notably the movements "Initiative, creativity", "Review theory, practice skills, compete for skilled workers" have encouraged and motivated workers to constantly practice skills, promote initiatives, improve, and make efforts to contribute to building the Capital more and more "Cultured - Civilized - Modern".

The movement "Review theory, practice skills, compete for skilled workers" with the highlight being the Skilled Workers Competition has created opportunities for a large number of workers in enterprises to exchange, learn experiences, and improve their expertise, professionalism, and skills.

2025 is the fourth time the Hanoi People's Committee and the Hanoi City Labor Federation have jointly organized the City-level Skilled Workers Competition. The competition aims to honor highly skilled workers, talented workers, and creative workers; contributing to improving the quality of human resources, increasing labor productivity and competitiveness of the Capital and the Country in the integration process. Through the competition, workers in units and enterprises in the area have the opportunity to exchange and learn experiences in labor and production, contributing to building a team of skilled technical workers with good ethics and industrial style, capable of meeting increasingly advanced and modern technology and production equipment, setting new records in labor productivity, progress, product quality, actively contributing to the completion of planning targets and production and business tasks to increase labor productivity of units and enterprises.

The 2025 competition will have 11 occupations, including: Universal lathe; Universal milling; CNC lathe; CNC milling; Electric welding; CO2 welding and Tig welding; Industrial electronics; Industrial electricity; Drawing and design on computers; Industrial sewing; Automotive technology.

The 2025 Hanoi City Skilled Worker Competition had 362 contestants from 60 enterprises participating. These were excellent contestants selected from the competitions at the grassroots level. In which, the professions with the most contestants were: Industrial Electricity with 67 contestants, Co2 Welding and Tig Welding: 63 contestants, Drawing and Design on Computer with 48 contestants, Electric Welding with 34 contestants; CNC Milling 32 contestants; Contestants from FDI enterprises accounted for 45%. The contestants participated in both theoretical and practical exams.

The jury has recommended that the Organizing Committee of the Competition decide to award certificates and prizes to 112 winners, including: 11 First Prizes, 22 Second Prizes, 33 Third Prizes, and 46 Encouragement Prizes. In particular, the First Prize winners of the 11 competing professions, in addition to the prize money of 10 million VND, were also awarded Certificates of Merit by the Hanoi People's Committee.
