From October to December, Ban Gioc Waterfall ( Cao Bang province) enters the most beautiful time of the year. The weather is cold, the waterfall is clear and blue, the border mountain and forest scenery becomes as beautiful as a fairyland.

Ban Gioc Waterfall is located in Dam Thuy commune, about 85km from the center of Cao Bang city (old). This is the largest natural waterfall in Southeast Asia, and is also one of the four largest waterfalls in the world located on a national border.

The waterfall is over 60m high, with many levels pouring down large limestone blocks, creating a majestic scene in the middle of the northern mountains and forests.

According to locals, November is the best time of year to see the waterfall. The turquoise water, clear sky, and cool weather are ideal for sightseeing and photography.

Compared to the rainy season when the water flows down turbulently and is turbid, this season Ban Gioc waterfall has a more gentle and poetic appearance.

“The waterfall is breathtakingly beautiful this season. The water is clear, the weather is cool, and visitors can take a boat near the foot of the waterfall to clearly feel its majesty and hear the sound of the falling water echoing throughout the area,” said Nguyen Khanh Dan, a tourist from Hanoi .

“This is my first time coming to Ban Gioc. The waterfall is very big but not noisy, but calm and clear. The scenery this season is really worth visiting once,” said Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha, a tourist from Son La.

Ban Gioc Waterfall is divided into many levels, the main stream falls down strongly, creating a white mist covering the whole area, while the small streams flow around the rocks covered with green moss.

The sound of water mixed with the wind and birdsong creates a sense of spaciousness.

During the most beautiful season of the year, Ban Gioc not only attracts tourists by its scale and special location on the Vietnam - China border, but also by its purity and peace that is rarely found anywhere else.

For many tourists, just coming here once, standing in the cool mist rising from the foot of the waterfall, is enough to fully feel the majestic and poetic beauty of Cao Bang's mountains and rivers.
